How Bob Dylan and the Beatles and Changed each other- and the World by Jim Windoff

A brand new book about the Beatles and Dylan surprised me positively. As a certified Georgie girl my main interest was how and how much the book would focus on Bob and George and I was very happy to realize that the author understood the importance of that friendship, and that it was very much a friendship of equals. The chapter about the Wilburys was especially interesting. Dylan was at the nadir of his career at that time and without George things might have gone very differently for him. tagging @georgeharrisonsmiling here since we talked about this a while back

I also learned a lot about the painful clashes of two gigantic egos, misters Lennon and Dylan. Those two really did not get along. Funny that.

The book is also an excellent guidebook for every new fan who wants to get a general idea about the two gigantic forces of the 1960s, both in music and in culture

Oh, interesting thought!

I love George's music (obviously) but Dark Horse is tough one for me because of his voice. Not because i think that he sounds "awful" or anything like that, but it's just so obvious how badly he's torturing his vocal cords when all he should be doing is letting them and himself rest. It makes it hard for me to listen. So songs from that record are not so familiar to me.

But I of course know Simply Shady and his thoughts behind writing it and I just read the lyrics with some thought. And you are right, in Nothing Is Real- universe it absolutely WOULD be about John!
