Now I understand the expression ‘love sick’

I couldn’t understand it before

But now I feel sick when I think of love

I feel sick when I think about the fact that I might not ever know it

It’s a different type of love sick

A yearning that burns a hole in your chest

That leaves you empty

That threatens to suck you in with it

Like a black hole

A singularity

Where my heart is

It claims its home

Threatens to leave me dead and barren

Without a hand to hold

That’s terrifying

Being lovesick is terrifying

I only hope to share this feeling with someone

Before the black hole swallows me whole

Before the feeling leaves me dead and cold

Before it sucks me in

Leaving me defenseless

I feel just dreadful
