I am not sure why they closed, honestly.

Maybe they felt they couldn’t fix the issue, in the end?

Either way - it was the admin’s decision to close or not close. I don’t want people feeling guilty about the group closing because that’s the truth: it was the ADMIN’S choice.

I gave them options and they very well could’ve reached out to other blogs for opinions on how to improve - but they chose to close. And who knows - maybe they were going through something ooc that no one knows about.

homecoming did not close because of this issue. it closed because of inactivity. i did mention in the server that seeing an anon referencing cliques was upsetting & asked that members come to me with ways i could improve in the future. got no response to that but i did get people i had just recently met expressing their positive experience.

however seeing anons saying “good riddance” was admittedly upsetting consider i did everything that i could to make it a welcoming space- which i’ve had multiple brand new members reach out and let me know that their experience was positive.

i offered assistance, i addressed the concerns that were raised to me, i had my own list of wc available to the whole group, i posted opens and starter calls, i had guidelines that required members to interact outside of a bubble- that really is all that i know to do.

several of the people making posts now are upset because they know what this group means to me. at least 3 of them were not members of homecoming but merely commenting on this phenonemon of complaint without chance for correction. i will try my very hardest move on after this because i know this is getting me irrationally upset but please know that above being an interactive vampire story, homecoming was a story about grief. MY own grief. i am realizing now that i was probably too senstive on the subject to put it into the rpc and that truly is my bed and will not happen again.
