Honestly 9-1-1’s portrayal might be worse than that of Criminal Minds because how you gonna have the entire addiction and withdrawal in one episode?? With a montage??

It does bring me a sort of appreciation that they dropped Spencer Reid’s addiction storyline instead of doing something like this, though.

If Spencer Reid is the king of dropped storylines (addiction, disability, sexuality), then Evan Buckley may be the king of short-lived, half-assed plot devices that, without a dedicated fandom, nobody would give a shit about, or even remember.

Fanfiction writers are so g, because how are you making me care so deeply about these characters while the canon media is this aggressively shallow?

At least Criminal Minds implemented Show, Don’t Tell. It seems that 9-1-1 prefers Tell All, Then Show All in A Dramatic, Sub-5-Minute, Vine-Compilation-Esque, Assortment of Scenes. With Emotional Music.

The look on his face when she said she’s 9 years sober like.. he is not alone. I think Langdon is also about the age McKay was when she started her sobriety streak.

Plus the fact that they’re both parents just kind of creates this bond between them.
