Located in Osaka, and the owner of the house is elderly people. This house is designed to accommodate with all the positive accessibility.
The house plan consists of traditional japanese architecture typical, such as genkan (entrance when you loosen your shoes), tatami room, oshiire (a small section of the house used for storage), and elevated floor raised above the ground. All that traditional features still implied although the house felt very modern.
The Japanese traditional houses are simple both in detail and spaces. The existing spatial configuration is made in the most effective way as possible with no wasted spaces. Therefore, in Japanese traditional houses have typical multifunctional rooms. This multifunctional spaces play an important role in the daily life of the users because most activities happening in this room. Because the importance of this room, majority of the traditional house plan made this room placed in the midst and is the core of the house.
