I feel like Mary, at some point, would decorate her cane if she ever were to have one at some point. Probably would take her awhile too since she’d be busy recovering mentally, but I think it’d be sweet if she was able to do so eventually

im posting this a day early, his bday isnt technically till tomorrow, but who caaaaaares!!!!!

ok so another thing ive been thinking a LOT about are the still lives, specifically the one of clarks wife, barbra, (which she is *clearly* supposed to be) and the one of mary at the end of the movie

for right now im assuming that the still life of mary is how clark saw her even though my friend pointed out it could be/probably is from phil, but tbh either way works for what im thinking

anyway i think its really interesting how both mary and barbras still life have the same kind of facial issue present where no matter how you look at their face it always looks like its turning away from you

with barbra she is always turning her face side to side away and with mary her face is looking down

i think that barbras still life shows just how clark viewed her, in addition to that her face is more distorted because its been longer since clark has seen her and i dont think that its a coincidence that she looks like mary

i think that clark had been starting to confuse mary and barbra in his mind through all the therapy where mary would play the role of his wife

i also think its interesting how both of the female still lifes have a similar facial structure and the fact that they both have about the right number of eyes where as the two male still lifes have a more stable faces and while their eyes are fucked up they still are present as if the person remembering them actually looked at their face and cared to remember it *mostly* correct

The red-headed still life is also credited to a completely different actress! While it could've been for practical effects reasons and nothing to do with the story, I think it's interesting to imagine Clark grasping at imitations the whole time.
