James Moriarty being Irish in Young Sherlock and also being played by an Irish actor really just adds to the character arc of never fitting in. In the 1800s, Irish people were heavily discriminated against by the British. Like oh he's smarter than other people AND an oppressed minority?!? His character seems to be the realization of "Oh you think I'm the villain? Who would I be if I corrected you?" 😏

And like, his obsession with Silas's success and the idea of selling the equation so he can live in comfort for the rest of his life? Because he definitely grew up in like, a one room cottage, struggling to afford food. Of course he wants to not have to struggle everyday for the rest of his life!

Young Sherlock's version of Mycroft has the energy of, like, "I, too, would like to shoot Sherlock in the face 90% of the time, but if you do it, I will, regrettably, be forced to make sure you never know peace again, in this world or the next," and I'm so here for it.
