People who thought of themselves as social justice activists, feminists, progressives, actually cheering for monsters who filmed themselves slaughtering entire families in their homes, raping women so viciously before they murdered them their bodies had broken pelvises, kidnapping mothers and their infants that they would murder later, mowing people down in hails of bullets as they tried to flee.

That’s not, and never will be, “resistance” or “freedom fighting.” What happened in Israel that day was nothing short of absolute evil. I lost count of the amount of people I blocked in disgust that day, people I respected and enjoyed interacting with. The veneer of humanity slipped that day for a lot of people, and it was and continues to be a very ugly sight indeed.

That’s when I decided I couldn’t be silent. I couldn’t pretend I didn’t see what was happening. The worst massacre of Jews in a single day since the Holocaust and it was met with cheering and justification and an astronomical rise of the worst antisemitism many Western countries had seen in decades. And still it goes on. Jewish people who are frightened and traumatised and mourning a world they thought they knew are abused, attacked and dehumanised and then accused of “playing the victim card.” For standing with them, I have been sent rape and death threats, told I should be beaten in the street, that I should kill myself, that I’m a genocidal cunt and a baby killer lover. If you’re trying to convince people of the rightness of your cause, that’s perhaps not the best way to go about it.

so of course every snake that has the instinct to warn humans of its presence gets killed, and only the snakes that bite first and dont make themselves known get to survive. a human who's been bitten is too worried about his swelling ankle to decapitate a snake with a shovel.
