-He is one of the few people with the true knowledge of the extent of Juda Parem. I mean seriously, he's seen his own kind drugged and collared, and is being forced to try and recreate said drug.

-He offers to sacrifice himself multiple times in the book, just to end the whole thing.

-He was first hidden amongst the Shu, with a father working desperately to hide/contain both their powers, then he was locked in a cell in Fjerda, and then he was trapped in a tomb for the majority of the second book. Yeah, you're going to go a bit stir crazy.

-He's a little pyro

Also he's just a hilarious character.

He's sulky. He's sarcastic. He plays coy. He'd twirl his hair around his finger innocently if it was long enough. He's dramatic.

- The Crows are technically a gang, though it’s more like a glorified club with slightly more criminal activity

- Wylan, Matthias, and Inej did not join the club voluntarily, they just kinda got dragged along bc someone else was also in the club

- Nina smacks Matthias’s ass a lot just to see him embarrassed

- Wylan and Jesper do that thing where you joke about killing your friend’s abusive parents a lot, Inej is getting a little worried that it’s not gonna be a joke for much longer

- Kaz and Inej met because they both use the library to avoid people at lunch. They didn’t talk for a solid 2 months but they sat in the general vicinity of one another

- Nina and Jesper have an ongoing bet of who’s going to get laid first

- Inej tells Jesper about fights when they’re about to happen so he can record them to post

- Wylan nearly shit his pants the first time he talked to Kaz

- Kaz is best known for being able to steal stuff from the school vending machines and cafeteria, no matter how much they increase security

- Inej wins every game of hide and seek she has ever played

- Kaz told everyone he was a vampire in middle school, Inej and Jesper never let him live it down

- Inej constantly gets mistaken for a freshman even when she’s a junior

- Jesper made one short joke towards Inej and she suplexed him for it

- Matthias has the entire Les Mis soundtrack memorized, and yet vehemently denies being a theatre kid

- Nina and Jesper tear it up on the dance floor at every single school dance, while the rest of the crows stand awkwardly off to the side

Inej who, by the time she’s in her twenties, has a permanent crease between her eyebrows from already a lifetime of furrowing them

Inej with the beginnings of laugh lines in the corners of her eyes before she’s 30. She hears theyre called crows feet, which only serves to make her laugh again

Kaz: Gift-giving. Come on. Try to argue with this. TRY.

Inej: Acts of service. Again, TRY to argue.

Jesper: Physical touch. The number of times he's hugged people in the duology is insane.

Wylan: Quality time. That man organises the best dates ever. Also gifting, because he probably composes for his friends regularly.

Nina: Physical touch and words of affirmation. She regularly uplifts Inej and Matthias in the duology, and she's also pretty clingy imo.

she falls in love with aang because he doesn’t just represent hope for the world but he also gives her back her lost childhood with his whimsy. she gets to be silly and childish with him and that’s so important for her.
