Hello fellow readers! What I have in my paws today is a review of “Good Girl, Bad Blood” by Holly Jackson! This is a the second book of "A Good Girl's Guide To Murder" series and it's, as the first, a YA mystery. After solving the Andie Bell case on the first book, Pip is now face with a sudden disappeareance that unravels some secrets.

Okay so this one... I think had me hooked more than the first one. The last 200 pages I COULD NOT bring myself to put it down. It's not romance focused at all but I adore every and each Pip x Ravi interaction so much. :(

This is the perfect combination of an intriguing story that will make you curious to where it's leading you, and at the same time will make you cry.

It also has a couple illustrations which were very cute! I love when they pop up eheh.

*SPOILER ALERT*

I felt a lot of things, and mad was definetely one of them, especially with the Matt Hastings trial and Stanley's death. However, it really is very satisfying connecting all the dots when things unveil.

“You aren't on your own here, so stop pushing people away. Stop pushing me away.”

As I'm writing this, THE TRAILER FOR THE BBC SHOW "A GOOD GIRL'S GUIDE TO MURDER" IS OFFICIALLY OUT!! I'm so so excited, I just hope it minimally lives up to my expectations because I really think it has major potential as a series!!

Also, I'm immediately starting "As Good As Dead" and I feel like I'm going to be in a series hangover afterwards, I'm enjoying this so much.

This is This is the third book of the Folk Of The Air series and is a political fantasy with a sub-plot of romance, enemies to lovers. Thid book starts with Jude being exiled still and finding her way back to Elfhame. After finally being acknowledged as Queen, she and Cardan face what could only feel like endless curses.

I am down bad for this book. Down bad for Jurdan. Down bad for this series. This is definetly my favorite book and I will be reading The Stolen Heir and everything else related to this universe because I just can not go with it.

Jude is an astonishing character. Cardan makes me lose my mind. I love ONE duo. I cried during the last few pages because the kind of comfort where everything ends well (for now, or not, we'll see) and you see both Jude and Cardan receive the love they deserve.

I just can't put into words how much I loved this book, I'm going to walk everyday with a sign hung on my head telling everyone to read this.

*SPOILER ALERT* so Taryn's pregnante with Locke's child.......... AND LOCKE IS DEAD??? Oh i love this. I'm kind of excited if their stories develop on The Stolen Heir's duology.

Anyway, I never thought I would be SO into a political fantasy. If you consider reading this series please be reminded that this is mostly political. Yes there's romance, but very little (BUT IT'S SO WORTH IT I SWEAR).

“I missed you," I whisper against his skin and feel dizzy with the intimacy of the admission, feel more naked than when he could see every inch of me. "In the mortal world, when I thought you were my enemy, I still missed you." "My sweet nemesis, how glad I am that you returned.”

I'm very sad that I've finished The Folk Of The Air series and I think I've set the bar way too high for any other fantasy I'll read in the future.

I'm going to take a break and finish the Good Girl's Guide To Murder series before jumping into The Stolen Heir Duology and How The King Of Elfhame Learned To Hate Stories. I'm gonna leave another quote here because I quite literally can not stop obsessing over this.

“I start to speak, but he stops me with a gesture. “And you.” He looks at me, his lips curving in something that’s not quite a smile; it’s more and less than that. “I knew little else, but I always knew you.” And when he kisses me, I feel as though I can finally breathe again.”

After finally The Cruel Prince ending, Jude has Cardan under her control due to a vow he made. Jude is basically puppeteering the now High King.

I absolutely loved this one, honestly. The world, the plot, the sub-plot, all of it. After re-reading The Cruel Prince (I didn't enjoy it so much on the first read) I got very curious to read the rest of the series. Yes, the first book is very dense and it gets a bit boring at times but every good fantasy world needs a proper introduction, so when I read it the second time, I enjoyed it much more because I started to take it as it was: an introduction to this series.

A lot of people expect a romantasy but this is mostly political-fantasy. Though I must say, the romance scenes? Are top tier. I found it very balanced and I was eager to keep reading even on the more political bits.

I'm very very excited to continue this series and I highly reccomend it if you enjoy YA Fantasies. And if you decided to not read more because you didn't enjoy The Cruel Prince... you're missing out for real, give it a try!!

I LOVE a strong female character that isn't portrayed as defenseless all throughout the book, and that is just Jude Duarte. Kick-ass girlie.

*SPOILER ALERT* The ending left me heartbroken for Jude but also made me think if Cardan's words have double meaning... Like, is he saying she can forgive herself since she's now from the crown? Why wouldn't he acknowledge her though, if that was the case? Anyway, I'll understand soon enough since I already have The Queen Of Nothing ready to read eheh. Also, I absolutely can not listen to Taryn or Locke for one more second. For real, exile them for all I care.

“For a moment,” he says, “I wondered if it wasn’t you shooting bolts at me.” I make a face at him. “And what made you decide it wasn’t?” He grins up at me. “They missed.”

I would eat this up if it was ever adapted as a tv-show. But I'd be scared as hell cause we all know how that goes sometimes.

This one had me hooked asf. I went from not wanting to put it down, to reaching the final chapters and not wanting to continue it because I was enjoying myself too much to finish it. 😂

*SPOILER ALERT* I really enjoyed the whole plot and was excited for most of it but I was a little sad and confused with Barney's death. I don't think it was necessary and it actually bummed me out quite a lot.

Aside from that I really was at the edge of my seat at the end of each chapter as the investigation got more and more captivating, I just HAD TO KNOW what happened and so I found it a very easy-to-read book because it flows naturally. It mentions various subjects like mental health, substance use, sexual assault and at some point even racism. It has romance happening in the background but it's never the focus and aside from the characters interactions you don't see much mention of it.

“He kissed her, and she glowed with that feeling. The one with wings. “You bring the rain down on them, Pip.” “I will.”

This book will have a tv show adaptation some time soon! Shooting has already wrapped up yet we don't have a date yet. I'm both excited and scared for this because, well, we know how hard it is to capture a book's magic and expectation, but at least it's not a movie. I think it has more potential if we have several episodes to explore the story.

I enjoyed this book a lot even though there wasn't a major plot outside of Lucy and Joshua, but I was a little disappointed on how early on they first kissed? However, it was very well compensated with the slow burn in the development of the rest of their relationship. There was A LOT of provocation and bickering still throughout the rest of the book, promoted by the fact that at work they were still rivals. The book wasn't super spicy but the couple of scenes that did happen were quite explicit.

Also, the nickname Joshua uses for Lucy. 😭

“Shortcake.” “Stop calling me Shortcake.” “Watching you pretend to hate that nickname is the best part of my day.”

This book has a movie adaptation. It wasn't phenomenal and I'm not a fan of how they changed the sequence of the plot, but it was overall cute if you're into the cliché-romcoms. It does have Lucy Hale in it tho, I thought it was cute.
