Your quilava.
I am telling you, if we keep calling transphobs perverts for policing the genitals of children, it WILL become the norm of society to feel that way.
they went off with this
@ruffboijuliaburnsides basedball
hot damn they really did go off with this
Reminder: this is Trump's America right now. This is a very anti-DEI, anti-queer moment in our nation's history. Lots of groups and companies who used to do surface-level Pride pandering are going to be quiet this year - even if they don't throw themselves fully behind the hate, for optics reasons - because the current administration is making supporting diversity less profitable and more ~political~. So groups and companies who look at the current state of things in the US and say "fuck you, we're supporting the queer community anyway"? Who are going out of their way to stand with us even when it seems more people are standing against us than ever? That means something. That's worth noting.
This year, even more than other years, the Seattle Mariners didn't have to do this. The Seattle Mariners wanted to do this.
For those unaware, fans get to vote on who will be in the all star games. This year the Mariners have eligible players in every position. You can visit their official page on the MLB website and vote in the Mariners players up to 5 times a day.
This is the perfect opportunity to positively reinforce Seattle's support for LGBTQ+ rights FOR FREE.
The Official Site of Major League Baseball
You don't need to watch or understand baseball to vote, the idea is we want to SHOW SUPPORT FOR THOSE SUPPORTING US BACK! You have to supply an email, location and a few other metrics that you don't have to be honest about. But it helps to be close but not accurate just to show the demographics of people showing interest.
BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE. It just so happens that Seattle and LA are in different divisions, which means we can show our support for Los Angeles as well.
The MLB is in charge of the system, meaning they will see people voting in Seattle and hopefully think about their stance on LGBTQ+ rights, and how they respond to the demonstrations in LA.
It's fitting how Tumblr staff got together and decided that a ball pit reference would go over well after the previous April 1st events, only to have .01 precent of the user base actually participate. A flop of a flop. Try reading actual posts instead of seeing how many notes a tag gets and assuming it'll be a hit. We don't actually like dash con and ball pits here.

of course s/he's exclusively an old school Kirk fan, we all know whats his face's stance on trans people
the trump administration has completely scrubbed “dei” initiatives from the cdc website. one of those pages is about eligibility for postpartum concentratives- which is honestly really important for you and your baby’s health. apparently, calling some women “people” so that postpartum trans men are included on a medical website is too far. luckily, you can still get the cdc guidlines that were censored by the trump administration here. itd be a shame if they were still spread around
(Read on our blog)
Beginning in 1933, the Nazis burned books to erase the ideas they feared—works of literature, politics, philosophy, criticism; works by Jewish and leftist authors, and research from the Institute for Sexual Science, which documented and affirmed queer and trans identities.

Stories tell truths.
These weren’t just books; they were lifelines.
Writing by, for, and about marginalized people isn’t just about representation, but survival. Writing has always been an incredibly powerful tool—perhaps the most resilient form of resistance, as fascism seeks to disconnect people from knowledge, empathy, history, and finally each other. Empathy is one of the most valuable resources we have, and in the darkest times writers armed with nothing but words have exposed injustice, changed culture, and kept their communities connected.

Less than two weeks after the US presidential inauguration, the nightmare of Project 2025 is starting to unfold. What these proposals will mean for creative freedom and freedom of expression is uncertain, but the intent is clear. A chilling effect on subjects that writers engage with every day—queer narratives, racial justice, and critiques of power—is already manifest. The places where these works are published and shared may soon face increased pressure, censorship, and legal jeopardy.
And with speed-run fascism comes a rising tide of misinformation and hostility. The tech giants that facilitate writing, sharing, publishing, and communication—Google, Microsoft, Amazon, the-hellscape-formerly-known-as-Twitter, Facebook, TikTok—have folded like paper in a light breeze. OpenAI, embroiled in lawsuits for training its models on stolen works, is now positioned as the AI of choice for the administration, bolstered by a $500 billion investment. And privacy-focused companies are showing a newfound willingness to align with a polarizing administration, chilling news for writers who rely on digital privacy to protect their work and sources; even their personal safety.
Where does that leave writers?
Writing communities have always been a creative refuge, but they’re more than that now—they are a means of continuity. The information landscape is shifting rapidly, so staying informed on legal and political developments will be essential for protecting creative freedom and pushing back against censorship wherever possible. Direct your energy to the communities that need it, stay connected, check in on each other—and keep backup spaces in case platforms become unsafe.
We can’t stress this enough—support tools and platforms that prioritize creative freedom. The systems we rely on are being rewritten in real time, and the future of writing spaces depends on what we build now. We at Ellipsus will continue working to provide space for our community—one that protects and facilitates creative expression, not undermines it.
Above all—keep writing.
Keep imagining, keep documenting, keep sharing—keep connecting. Suppression thrives on silence, but words have survived every attempt at erasure.

Research and basic information on subjects ranging from tuberculosis surveillance to adolescent health disappeared from federal health agenc
Great.
Let me tell you how fucking insidious this is.
This morning, i heard on the public health reddit that the HIV page at cdc.gov had been scrubbed. Sure enough, the landing page was there, but all links to information about programs, treatment, data were gone.
Then we started to hear that all CDC was going to be removing data. Whole data sets. I started looking, and the Social Vulnerability Index, which identifies geographic areas that are vulnerable to climate, economic, or health-related disasters, it was gone.
The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, which is a national survey that helps identify things like smoking prevalence, healthcare access, are people meeting nutrtion guidelines, was gone. I had just downloaded that dataset and the documentation on Tuesday to run some stats on colorectal cancer screening in my state. It was now gone.
My colleagues at the health department started messaging each other. Were they also having troubles finding data? People on reddit were frantically trying to download datasets, comparing what they already had. For fuck's sake, the Census website and data was going down. The goddamn Census.
There are some heroes, like the good people at the r/DataHoarders subreddit who had heard rumblings earlier this week and had started scrapping the entire CDC website. The End of Term Archive had already been archiving federal websites and data for months, and are getting those datasets up on GitHub.
But this is unprecedented. This is fascism. This is an authoritarian regime removing public data from access to make sure theres nothing out there that can conflict with their message.
This is not normal.
If you live in the US and have the capability, call your reps and ask them what they're doing about this data scrubbing, ESPECIALLY if they're Democrats. Hold their feet to the fire.
As an immocopromised person, this will literally kill me. Fuck this administration and everyone in it
