This is 100% a Read and Find Out type question but what exactly happened to Kel that transformed him into a Cryptid?

Furfur saw something in Kel. Kel's actions in chapter 1 attract the attention of Furfur, a demon whose domain is love, lies, knowledge, and tempests and storms. In addition to this in CotV, I also write Furfur as having control over shadows themselves. He is also related to bones in the story, like he is in VotV.
Furfur witnesses that Dr.Kel is so isolated that it drives him into cannibalism. It decides that Kel could make a decent thrall. In the process of attempting to turn Kel, though, he escapes.
Kel ends up partially transformed into a beast. The magic that was meant to transform him only did so partially, resulting in Kel taking on a form that isn't quite human, isn't fully monstrous.
Furfur could be upset by this, but it isn't. As it watches Kel struggle with his own self image as the fic progresses, and, fascinatingly, begin to enjoy his new form, Furfur realizes that this result is MUCH more fascinating than what could have happened if its plans had succeeded. It now watches Kel with curiosity, learning from him.
Self-love is a form of love, and Furfur benefits from watching Kel begin to thrive in his new form.

Monday Progress Update for CotV (Cryptid Kel's origin story)

So!! Here is something from a conversation on the EternityDev discord. We were talking about the fact I headcanon Dr.Kel has freckles - and most freckles are visible on the back/arms, which I don't draw much without them being hidden by clothing. So, thanks to some nice recommendations for poses, I have decided to draw Kel (both Kelryptid and Dr.Kel, for comparison) tying his hair up so it'd be out of the way to show off the patterning on the skin there. The art does have a scattering of darker spots to show where his freckles would be, you just gotta zoom in! <3
I think Dr.Kel he has a million billion all over his back like this, and I think it's really pretty, actually.
When theres only 9 hours of daylight why do they set the clock to put the sunrise at 7:30 am and sunset at 4:30 pm why not put the sunrise at 10:30 am and the sunset at like 7:30 pm it would feel so much more natural

Mentally doing really well though. Was gone all week last week on a much needed trip. Feels good
hopefully I can get back into what I love doing, which is writing his story. Though, in my personal opinion, it is already complete :} Perhaps the prequel can be posted first before I continue the story... hehe
