Aizawa announces TYKTWD

Izuku calls his mother and finds out about his father being home (his father is supposed to pick him up Thursday)

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday go by (possibly describe Tues and Wes. Def describe Thurs)

Izuku is happy about going home to see his father

Izuku steadily gets more excited as Thursday goes on and is very anxious about seeing his father

Hisashi never shows up and Izuku sits in the pickup line for over 3 hours

There is no text from his father and Izuku finds out second hand that there was an emergency and his father had to leave and go back to the US

izuku is upset by this and decides to return to the dorms to once again hide away

Izuku stays in his room for the rest of the night and eventually cries himself to sleep

at the asscrack of dawn on Friday there is a knock at the door

it’s present mic “the forms say hizashi don’t they?”

they go out and have fun doing all the pro-hero, teaching, and dj-ing stuff

at some point Aizawa brings them food (it’s really sweet)

when the night starts to end izuku is slightly upset about it being over and the fact that his father stood him up and didn’t even care enough to tell him that he wasn’t going to be able to participate

Present Mic notices this and take him to the beach (Aizawa is also there btw you damn idiot) (Dagobah beach)

Izuku reveals how his father made him feel mostly that he “wasn’t enough and too much all at the same time bc his father couldn’t love some quirkless useless child”

this kind of reveals that Midoriya Hishashi is AFO tho it’s not explicit just vaguely mentions it like “Izuku looked into all the accounts his father had and all of them were falsified” or maybe mention how Hisashi means “from long ago” or smth (might omit completely can’t remember how i fit this in before)

Izuku can say with 100% certainty that he absolutely hates Take Your Kid To Work Day. Sure, when his father was still around, before he left after the official announcement of his quirklessness to work overseas in America, he loved it. Granted, he only had one experience with it but that one time was amazing! It was filled with green eyes that sparkled like a million suns had made their home in them and smiles so wide they hurt his freckled cheeks. Honestly, Izuku can hardly remember the actual experience. Really, he just remembers how it felt, to be loved and cherished and more importantly to be happy. But, as the years passed they weathered away that happiness and anticipation like rock eroding after decades of monsoons and harsh winds.

After elementary school no one really thought about the not-quite-holiday that was allowed off for young children. In middle school every kid was either obsessed with getting into a hero school and practicing their quirks or typical middle school drama. No one paid too attention to it and thus was not the center of attention. But, occasionally, there were whisperings of the outing and how fun it was and how much it was enjoyed. Izuku never participated in the light chattering.
