I told the owner I hoped neither of my other cats went into the catio at that moment, because cats can fight in that situation. Yes, my cats could’ve gotten into a fight because they saw a strange cat.

My aunt had her legs torn into shreds by one of her cats when I was little. She used to have her two cats in a harness-and-leash thing on her patio all the time. Then a neighbor started to let their cat out and well, one day that boy cat walked past, the two girls started to fight while on leash, aunt heard it, tried to separate them, and one of them attacked her legs instead.

And those of you that are considering doing something like this for fics that are written by others, please get their permission before you do so. I know that this post was made in good faith, or at least I hope very much that it was, but a lot of people are particular about how their work is archived (myself included) and may not want print copies of their fanfiction being made out of their control. Obviously they would be hard pressed to stop you if you wanted to disregard their wishes, but since we’re not allowed to sell our written works, it would be nice to be afforded at least the courtesy of respecting our wishes wrt how we want our works archived (or as the case may be, not archived).

Additionally…. and this goes for everyone reading this, if you like a story enough to go through the trouble of formatting a document and having it printed into a book… please consider supporting the author who wrote it. If you haven’t left a comment on the fic, please do so, and bear in mind that lot of authors have patreons or ko-fi accounts or other ways to donate listed on their tumblr home pages through which you can say thanks in a way that makes a big difference to them. It’s… to me it seems extremely rude to print someone’s story into a book without asking first, and even more so if you are unwilling to put effort toward supporting/thanking them for the work they’ve done.

And lastly!! Please do NOT go through Lulu. Lulu is an actual publishing site, which means that you can get an author (or yourself, if they’re your stories) in legal trouble! If you want to own a print copy of a book, go through a printer like blurb.com instead. They are, expressly stated, JUST a printing company and not a publisher (in fact you are not even allowed to say or imply your story was “published” by them). Please do not harm the fanfiction community by putting authors in bad spots!
