the parallels between the lucky one and the last great american dynasty both being about successful rich women who lived a glamorous life, the rumours that surrounded them and what ended up happening to them, and both stories ending with taylor making comparisons to her own life and relating it back to herself “and now my name is up in lights, but i think you got it right” and “then it was bought by me … i had a marvelous time ruining everything” something about that is kind of hauntingly tragic yet beautiful at the same time

love that the album opens asking “if one thing had been different, would everything be different today?” and towards the end we have invisible string which explores the idea of fate and essentially answers that yes if one thing had been different, everything would be different — but thank goodness everything happened exactly as it did

remember when taylor got bleeped on national television and the line in the song ended up being “if a man talks then i owe him nothing” and you know what? even a better statement.
