December’s Happy Home Challenge put the idea of a Cooking Contest to us. I didn’t want to just make a bland contest, where everything is sterile, I thought it’d be quite fun to make the most over the top Kawaii baking and bright cooking contest that has ever been seen before! I created the “Kawaii Jar” design which makes a cute wallpaper, sign, or even rooftop design! You can come and get it from visiting our competition entry (code below)!

Harriet and Monique are our contestants in the bake-off! Harriet created a beautiful stack of pancakes, and a gorgeous flower cupcake - and Monique created a flan, and two adorable cupcakes, one of which was based on a cute Panda design! It was too tough to pick a winner, so on air last night, we put it to a crowd vote..

Today at Nook’s Homes we had a special request for an optician to be built. Elise always felt like a bit of an outcast for her sight problems, but wanted to normalise eyewear for the animals in town. She liked her optician’s so much that she invited me to help her work there on opening day. Sure enough, our first customer, Cheri, arrived bright and early. 

We ran through the regular eye tests downstairs in the lab, and then brought her upstairs to help pick out a brand new pair of ‘specs for her! She liked the thick rimmed glasses, but in the end chose a lovely pair of purple ones which suited her very well.

This month’s online design request was for Felyne - a cat with a passion for hunting! She rears her own pigs which she keeps in her garden, alongside drums and a campfire for the ceremonies when she invites her friends to enjoy roast al fresco with her. inside, she has rooms where she also cooks and eats her hunt.
