she snorted “no, definitely not. i don’t know why i would call you it but i think annie is too cute.”

“Okay then, Annie it is.” Anita giggled. “What about you? Is Kitty your real name or a nickname?”

“do you want him to? like, do you want to be friends with robbie?” landon nodded, “yeah, i mean, that’s kinda how peter found out i liked him. i was telling my brother but i think my brother’s happy that i’m happy.”

“With Robbie?” Anita repeated, tilting her head to the side as she considered it. “I don’t know? I mean, I don’t want us to be awkward or on bad terms forever, but I guess it all depends on how things play out from here.” She answered with a shrug. “Aww, that’s kinda cute actually. I’m glad your brother’s on board though. You deserve to be happy without any fuss. You’re too sweet not to be content.”

she giggled “i would pick you someone super foxy. i actually already have someone in mind.” she grinned cheekily. “one of the best bodies i’ve ever seen on a man.” she chimed. “age appropriate too, which millie and i bickered about because i wanna set her up but she won’t date an old man.” honey giggled, nudging her.

“Ah, do you now...?” Roxana trailed in mock intrigue as Honey went on. “Well, a built man is always plus in my eyes.” She added with a grin. “That’s a good call,  because I’m definitely not on the market for some old fart. There’s a fine line between older and just plain old. I’m not trying to be anyone’s sugar baby any time soon so I agree with her on that.”

“You get used to it after years of working the field,” Pippa shrugged. “I make sure to try and keep my work and private life separate. My clients don’t get my personal number, and I don’t answer work emails after hours. Life’s about balance.”

“So you’ve never gotten close with a patient?” Roxana asked curiously. “No friendships? Relationships? Anything?”

“You’d think they’d be better since there’s more money to hire people who actually have a clue what they’re doing,” Billie mused, pursing her lips, “I only went that one time, after that I got, like, a legit one that actually helped. Ooooh, a rumour? About what?”

Roxana nodded along in agreement as Billie spoke, waving a hand dismissively when she asked about the rumor. “It was a trivial accusation.” She began with a sigh. “Someone basically spread a rumor that I was conspiring against another student to secure my spot as top of the school—which is total bullshit.” Her tone was defensive at this point, like she had to prove her innocence when she wasn’t even innocent at all. “Anyways, the rumor spread around like wildfire and my school counselor called me in for an alleged intervention. It all still annoys me to this day.”

“no, i can’t blame you, you’re right,” he said winking at her back. “but then again, i want you naked as well, that’s always on my mind,” he said with a small grin. he stood in front of her. her body was amazing, that two piece that barely covered her  left little to the eye. he wanted her out of it now. he tugged her in, running a hand down her back, his hands now on her as. it was his after all. he licked his lips “yeah,” he said to her “you always know what i want because it’s what you want to,” he breathed, kissing her back harder, moaning against her lips. he didn’t realize she was edging him towards the pool, her lips were a nice distraction. he gasped as he realized he was falling backwards, splashing into the water. luckily it was heated. he came up and laughed ‘you little!” he grinned shaking his hair out. he took a breath and caught her, tugging her in “i was hoping you’d jump in with me,” he said kissing her back hard. he moaned lightly into this kiss while his hands tugged on her top string, getting it undone and off of her.

every girl she had ever met who wasn’t with a partner always gave the spiel of being too busy, preferring being single, honey didn’t buy it as before axel, she was definitely that girl who said the same thing. she was way too busy, she cared more about her career, yadda yada. she knew the truth. every young girl wanted to kiss some hot babe and curl up into bed with them for more than sex. “you never know what i might do.” she teased with a cheeky smile. “i do love setting people up.”

Roxana playfully rolled her eyes and scrunched her nose at the girl. “Oh my god, no. It’s bad enough when my parents do it.” She groaned. “At least I know you would pick out someone hot though, right?”

He laughed “god no, my dick does not cause break up,” he said to him. “i have no issues with whoever i’m in bed with,” he chuckled. “it just, wasn’t working, she had feelings for someone else and that wasn’t my fault, she worked with him constantly,” he shrugged. “always said she hated him but, i had a feeling that hate was lust hate and not hate hate,” he said as they walked along. “i’m seeing someone else though, kind of, we’re not official but i think it’s going okay,” he said. “i think the feelings are there, but i’ve been working so much, i know i need to just, chill, let it happen” he said with a nod. he got into the car and glanced at him and laughed “yeah, you’re right i should what was i thinking?” he teased shaking his head. he thought about it “yeah well i might have to do that,’ he chuckled. “i should have thought of it before,” he teased. “thanks man, so are you,” he grinned.

“Good to know.” Miguel teased, brushing a hand over his beard with a frown as Axel explained the true reason behind his breakup. “Oh shit, that’s harsh. I’m sorry to hear that man.” He began, giving his friend’s shoulder a pat. “But hey, at least you’re moving on instead of moping on about it. There’s no use for that anyways. Life’s too short to dwell on the past.” He continued on, as he started his car up with a chuckle. “I know right? What were you thinking bro? Don’t you know me at all?” He playfully questioned. “Yeah, just schedule a few midday rendezvous with whoever you’re seeing now and balance shall be restored my busy friend.” He encouraged, grinning with a teasing wiggle of his brow when Axel said he was good looking too. “I know. It’s kinda my thing.” He added, backing out of the parking spot and making his way down the road toward the night club. 

“I have ‘resting therapist face’, it’s okay,” Pippa chuckled. “If I didn’t want to talk about it, you’d know. Off the clock I’m much freer with my ‘shut up’s,” she teased gently.

“I suppose you do. If it’s any consolation, it certainly beats having a resting bitch face.” Roxana slipped through laughter. “I don’t know how you do it. I’ve never been good with heart to hearts, so I don’t think I could handle everyone itching to spill their guts out to me all the time.” 

“I think different things just work for different people. You do well with big goals, I do well with small goals. As long as it’s working is all that should matter, isn’t it?” Billie let out, raising an eyebrow. “For sure, rather than just calling their parents and passing the problem off,” she agreed, “But the public school system is shit for more than just that so I shouldn’t have expected much else.”

“I suppose so.” Roxana replied with a shrug. “Well, I went to private schools my entire life and our counselors weren’t much better. I didn’t visit mine often, but the only time they reacted to anything even remotely pertaining to me was to chastise me over a rumor that couldn’t be proven.”

“what do you think about annie? you look adorable as an annie.” she mused.

Anita shrugged her shoulders. “Sure. As long as ‘little orphan’ isn’t in front, I don’t mind it at all.” 

landon pushed his fingers through his hair and nodded in agreement. “i think you’re right. i think giving him space is probably the best option. he’ll come around eventually.” he reassured and then shook his head. “no but he will. my brother’s happy for him and his family helped us move so i met them in passing.”

“Yeah, hopefully that’ll be the case.” Anita replied with a nod of her head. “Oh, well that’s great then. I guess everything’s going pretty smoothly then, right?”

“Ah, I understand. I’ve been there too,” she nodded. “I stand by what I said, though. Even if you want to do things and they’d benefit you, there’s a point where you have to step back and say no and learn boundaries.”

“I suppose you have a point.” Roxana replied before suddenly breaking out in laughter with a shake of her head. “Oh goodness, my apologies. I didn’t mean to go all confessional on you just then. You’re just....easy to talk to.”
