for 101 reasons, the later WoT plot would not work without Moiraine getting doorwayed (and thus forcing Rand to stand on his own) but i am amused by the thought that if she did survive, there's a decent likelihood that Rand would take one look at the mess of Cairhienin politics and go "hey you're a Cairhienin noble, i'll just name you Queen of Cairhien and that's sorted" and Moiraine grinds her teeth trying to think of any response that's not "i don't want to" while Lan is laughing at the irony of it all.

it's never actually mentioned in either the show or the books but how big of a freak out do you think the Aiel had when they realized they let the niece of their biggest enemy go into their sacred city to undergo one of their most sacred rituals?

i'll admit that i was a little salty when i first started reading the books and found out that Rand, Mat, and Perrin are all ta'veren while the women (specifically Egwene) are left out. and i do think there was a bit of misogyny going into that decision, but i retract my judgment because Egwene being elected wizard pope at 18 and becoming the world's greatest girlboss despite everything being set against her without having any special Narrative Bending Power is so much more impressive.
