“There is so much security at airports now!” Kai’s amused voice bellowed towards the other person, clearly intended to engage in conversation whether they were willing or not. Well, more like a ramble. “I didn’t have any money for a flight, right? So I gave one of the attendants a brain aneurysm, ya know, to convince them to help me. And they said even if they wanted to they couldn’t because there’s, like, fifty other checkpoints to get through! I feel like I gave half the security staff aneurysms just to get on the freaking plane. I mean what a waste of magic, right?”

     “ i’m starting to understand the staff; this really is a waste of a valuable five minutes, ”  something  that  by  no  plight,  other  than   C O M P L E T E   boredom  because  inevitably  someone  had  chosen  to  come  play  let’s  try  and  bore  the  demon  to  death  (  been there and done that  ).  “ if I give you money, will that buy me the time i’ve lost back? —- could’ve spent that punching a priest in the face. ”  she’s  amused  by  the  notion;  what’s  black,  white  and  red  all-over?  the  priest  that  get’s  murdered  because  she  got  so  CONSUMED  with  the  blistering  desire  to  escape  guys like...this  (  not personal; she was shallow...mostly  ).  “ I whored out for magic once —- it sucked ass. ”

      “don’t make me cut you off, jack. believe me, another bourbon is not going to fix whatever’s going on at home.” she sighs, gently waving away the man at the end of the bar trying to get her attention. he’s begun swaying slightly in his seat and she knows that’s a sure sign another drink will have him falling straight off. weary gaze turns to the next face waiting to be served. “what can i get you ??”

                  “ a guy with daddy issues —- progressive, if you ask me. ”  but  hey  given  the   S H E E R   climate  of  oppression  this  town  was  filtering  through  some   big  old  batshit  crazy  barrier...she  was  all  for  looking  at  the  positives  (  big old shoutout to a powerful woman giving a man a kick up the ass ).  she  let’s  out  a  chuckle,  something  idle  about  the  way  she  taps  her  fingers  against  the  top  of  the  bar;  she  likes  the  idea  of  drinking  but  the  RELENTLESS  matter  of  it  taking  a  fair  few  bottles,  really  seemed  like  one  big  FUCK YOU  to  demon-kind.  “ how about...I start with a couple of shots and you just keep topping me up, until I lose the resting bitch face. ”  those  were  always  the  telltale  signs:  maybe  ironic  that  only  booze  could  make  her  even  fractionally  less —- herself.
