“Oh, hi, Miss! Yes! She comes around here often. Yesterday, she finally let me carry her into my room and- Well-”

[puts his hands to his head]

“Um, I believe I am you’re new roommate.” Sae replied with a shadow of a shy smile. She held out her piece of paper for the other to check since it took Sae a bit of time herself to make sense of them. “Please correct me if I’m wrong.”

“No no -- no need to be worrying, I had been notified of your would-be arrival a few days ago...”

It had surprised her actually to have no one lead the other to her room -- perhaps she hadn’t needed any help like she had needed a year ago. But then again it could be assumed that the roommate would be of great help and with that she let her train of thought trail off. She stepped aside from the door for the other.

Dark eyes ran over the small piece of paper once more, making sure she had the right room. She had learned English a few years ago, but some phrases still puzzled her, and she often slipped into her own language not just out of nervous habit, but because it would be the first time she would be having to live far from Japan. It would also be the first time she would be living in a dorm… at a school… with a roommate…

Sae came to shyly bite the inside of her cheek, hoping her new roommate would not mind her. However, she could not contemplate such matters outside her door any longer than she already had. Self consciously she was beginning to feel unwanted stares, and so with a deep breath, she timidly knocked on the door.

Far too long in her opinion did she lack a friend to share a room with -- or at least she hoped that was what came with a roommate. She had never done something like this before and it hadn’t helped that she was given a solo room upon arrival. In fact it probably only kept her from immersing herself in the community. With someone she would surely see every day though -- well she hoped that would change.

It took her little time to jump up from her bed -- where she had sat in wait for the other’s arrival -- and open the door a smile already on her face. She hadn’t quite expected to be greeted by Japanese -- or at least that was what she thought it sounded like -- though. In return she dipped into a slight curtsy before speaking herself.
