the mortal sun has risen and set a thousand thousand times, and HECATE is yet bound to the earthly realm, the reincarnation loop continues. this time their mortal coil has taken the shape of poppy drayton, a human born on july 14, 1991, a cancer and named minna gensch.

He nodded not at all ashamed. “It gets me out of house.” That was what his therapist kept telling him. He couldn’t help to chuckle at her concern. Harley gave a quick look over on his arms as well. “It looks like I was spared today.” It truly was his lucky day. He usually burnt badly. “I was hiding in the bush most of the day, so that saved me. Not from the bites.” Harley held the jar still letting her get a good picture. “A lucky find. That’s the exciting part of doing this. I never know what I’m going to see and find. If you decided to paint this one, I would like to see the end result.” He was a fan of Minna’s art.

They both needed encouraging to go out some days so she was certainly glad he was getting some fresh air and sunlight. It was second nature for her to worry about him, almost more than herself. “I think we might have to make you a bag for when you go bug hunting, some sunscreen and ointment for your bug bites.” Bug repellent wouldn’t work when he wanted to find some of the little creatures. “Of course I would show you. I need your seal of approval that it’s an accurate portrayal.” Minna was still working on getting better at animals and bugs, but she was making good progress. “I was headed further up the hill, do you want to join me?”

    “ You think so ? “ matthew muses eyes sparkling as he watches minna inspect the coin. their friendship has always brought him comfort, so her opinions meant quite a lot to him. “ Do you want it ? “ he inquires softly with a small grin. “ I have two more so if you’d want to keep it you can. I mean if you don’t also that’s cool. “ a red hue covering his cheeks as he backtracks. 

          KAYN OBSERVES AS SHE SETS UP HER STUFF NEXT TO HIM, an evidence proving she planned on staying. he lets out a sigh and takes another drag. “ i’m not hiding, per se, “ he begins, sticking his cigarette between his teeth and using his free hand to reveal the piece he wanted to add last few details upon, free of everyday hassles and distractions. “ i wanted to complete this. a tattoo design idea. very specific kind’a vibe, though. “

When he didn’t object to her setting up near him, she continued to do so, enjoying a little bit of company out in the woods. They were quiet and serene, but sometimes it was nice to share it with someone else, even if it’s only for a few minutes. There was something he wasn’t saying, but it wasn’t her nature to pry. If he wanted to share, he would and, eventually, he did. She looked over the piece, beyond impressed, as always. “It looks good. I wish I was able to capture people the way you do.” She specialised in landscapes mostly, people was a muse she never felt she could do justice. “Is it for someone specific?”

I think they might be from the 1600′s at least “ turning the coin over in his hands the smile never left his lips as he inspected it. the adrenaline of finding the small trinkets still abuzz “ There’s some polishing that needs to be done, but do you want to look at them ? “ he inquires while offering the other a look.

her eyes were covered by the dark shades, but it was easy to tell that the girl was absolutely hungover. her hair stood up in all the right places and her normal pristine appearance was no where to be seen. yet, somehow she made it out of her bungalow and into that coffee shop because her mind won’t stop repeating cold brew cold brew cold brew. ‘ are you studying the menu or something ? ’, she takes the time to reach out and poke the person in front of her. by this point she took the sunglasses that rested on her face and let them sit on top of her head. ‘ how about you order and get on with your day. i can assure you the barista isn’t going to quiz you. ’

This morning was set to be a good one. She had plans with friends in the afternoon and wasn’t in a rush, taking her time to enjoy the winter morning. The menu was hanging in front of her and she was looking over the options, trying to decide if she wanted to try something knew, when she heard a familiar voice behind her. Just the sound alone dropped her mood like it was a rock falling over the edge of a cliff, plummeting at breakneck speeds. “And I see you still haven’t figured out the world doesn’t revolve around you,” Minna countered, not even bothering to look at her. She was there first, and Gigi could simply wait her turn.

You know that feeling when you’re craving something to eat but you just have absolutely no idea what it is you want. That’s the exact situation Thea found herself in, after running a few errands for Reina’s campaign. She was hungry, and she wanted to find something to eat before she crept into the first stages of being hangry. So what did she do? Well what any logical person would of course…find the first person she came across and ask their opinion. Heck, maybe she’d even get a lunch buddy out of it. “So entertain me this scenario. You’re hungry but have absolutely no idea of what you want to eat. Where or what is your go to?”

She was surprised to run into Thea, but it wasn’t an unwelcome surprise. The two saw each other often and Minna had known the other would be busy working today. She had even planned to message her later to hear about all the things she ended up doing. This certainly streamlined that process. “The Cedar and Stone, for sure. It’s got all the wonderful food I crave and don’t let myself have.” It was an easy answer, although definitely one that made her hungry. “You up for a lunch date?”

“——— oh, well… either way, it’s my pleasure so… well, it’s cool.” he didn’t think it was all THAT important, it was just something they did, that they liked to do. so he shrugs nonchalantly and offers a smile before taking out his phone and looking for a few pictures. “great! you’re a LIFESAVER. they were somewhat forced on me… but i just feel too bad about letting them die so i’m gonna try my best to take care of them.” once he finds the pictures he turns his phone around and lets her see, “i’m pretty sure the small ones are succulents, i don’t know which type though and the other is a… date palm? or something like that.” 

At the very least, she could help him with his plants as a thank you. Minna stepped a little closer to him to take a better look at the pictures when they were presented to him. “Well, we can’t let your gifted plants wither away.” she agreed. There were a portion of her plants that were gifts from people, including her sister. “You’re right on both. The succulents look like they might be overwatered, they don’t need to be watered very often, and the date palm likes lots of sunlight, as much as it can get.”

He knew Minna would understand his fascination. She was one of the few people who would understand. Harley showed the jar. He was careful not to hold it to close to her. After years of doing his hunter, he knew not all people were excited a bug up close. The sun hit it shell at just the right angel and made the beetle shine as it crawled around. He nodded. “Luck and patience. I’ve been here all day. But these have this shine on them that at the right angel of the sun becomes iridescent in the grass. It’s pretty whimsical for a bug.” He was about to ramble on and on about the bug. But  he stopped himself out of habit. So often he had been shut down on his interests that he forgot that someone like Minna wouldn’t have mind. Harley wasn’t used to that just yet. “Um, and I’ve been doing this for a couple of years. I sort of have an eye for spotting them.”

As he held it up, she stepped a little closer, confident that the beetle was safe inside the jar and she could get a better look at all the shimmering colors. “You’ve been here all day?” she echoed, a little surprised at his dedication. Not that she should have been, Minna understood what it was like to get lost in whatever a person was doing and the time going by quickly. “You’re not sunburnt, are you?” she asked, giving him a once over to take note of any reddening areas on his skin, but he looked clear to her. “Wow,” she murmured, still amazed by how beautiful the beetle was. She took her phone out and carefully took a picture of the colors, wanting to save it for reference later. Something that beautiful deserved to be painted, or at least sketched. “Did you coming looking for this beetle, or was it just a lucky find?”

tightening   the   buckle   at   her   waist   bright   gaze   flutters   up   to   the   other.   it   was   nice   to   be   out   of   the   workplace   as   much   of   a   workaholic   claudette   was   she   did   love   a   change   of   scenery.   the   falls   were   her   favorite.   rushing   water   &   talkative   wildlife   could   be   numbing.   her   smirk   deepens   at   her   reply.   “   keep   up   enough   and   i’ll   be   worried   you   are   after   my   position   ma   chère.   ”   a   playful   wink   and   dip   of   her   head   before   straightening   her   shoulders   and   turning   her   frame   from   her.   

she   begins   to   walk   without   hesitancy.   her   strides   are   powerful,   purposeful.   though   she   doesn’t   wear   daggered   heels   and   a   perfectly   starched   suit   she   carries   her   power   with   her   even   now   amongst   nature.   a   coworker,   yes,   but   claudette   was   perhaps   seeking   more   than   that.   she   admired   minnas   work   ethic   and   skill   &   could   appreciate   a   fellow   hard   working   woman.   but   there   was   something   else,   something   instinctual   drawing   her   further   in.   “   i   do   not   mean   to   talk   business   out   of   the   workplace   but   are   you   happy   at   the   oracle?   everything   satisfactory   as   of   late?   ”   glancing   over   to   her   as   they   stride   together.   “   i   am   happy   to   be   in   your   company   minna.   ”   *   

From the look on the woman’s lips, and the shimmer in her dark eyes, Claudette seemed to be home in the nature of Magnetic Island, more so than she did in the bustle of the office despite the way she commanded attention and respect in the workplace. There was something about being outdoors that almost made Claudette a little less intimidating, though not by much. She chuckled softly, falling into step with her as she begins the hike. 

          “ ha-ha. “ he replies sarcastically, fully acknowledging the fact that no one was obliged to deal with his cocky and downright terrible attitude, but he is in no mood for much talking. “ don’t mind if I do. “ a reply followed by the ignition of his cigarette. kayn takes a long drag, so strong it almost reaches the half of it, the cloud of carbon dioxide and nicotine exhaling from him as dense as a mist. “ let’s say you aren’t. “ his head twists to meet the other, a soul he knew for some time now. the two have a connection on an energetic level, kayn believes as the two hardly speak on the regular, yet something about minna’s presence felt familiar to him. “ did you look for me or is this encounter an accident? “

He appeared to be in the same kind of mood she tended to find him. She didn’t mind it in the slightest. He was never mean to her, even if it seemed to appear that she was irritating him from the outside. Sarcasm did that sometimes. As he smoked, a nasty habit in her opinion, Minna pulled out her supplies, setting out her book and pencils. “A happy accident,” she replied, not having intended to find him here. Doing so wasn’t entirely a surprise, though. The waterfall drew everybody to it, whether for the beauty of it or the calming energy it seemed to have. “Are you hiding out here?”

Magnetic Island was one of the few places where a person would want to do winter yoga on a beach. It was a comfortable, breezy morning; the high was projected to be 23 degrees when she checked her phone upon arrival to the Bay. With her yoga mat on the sand, and not a soul in sight, Dez moved through her regimen with power and purpose, letting the stretches linger as her joints release the tension caused by the week’s demands. The area was still for much longer than she had expected, hearing nothing but the calls of birds and the rustling of lazy waves. Taking a breather, she rested on her knees and reached into her knapsack, pulling out her phone to double-check the time when the sound of sneakers against the ground caught her attention. Only expecting to take a quick glance, her gaze became fixed when she realized the sneakers were being worn by someone with a familiar face. Wearing a cheeky grin, she rested flat on her knees as they approached. “I should’ve known I’d see you around here sooner or later.”

She had thought Dez was simply too deep into her meditative state that she hadn’t heard her approach but the other woman looked up in time, a few feet before she actually reached her. A warm smile spread across her lips and she set the yoga mat she had been carrying down on the sand beside her. “After you told me about her plans to come do yoga here, I couldn’t help wanting to join you.” Dez was one of the few people she didn’t feel overwhelmed by when they interacted. Social interactions in general were exhausting, but not with the lawyer. “I’m not too late, am i?”

perfectly insistent - lucas / macaria, dez/ athena

when she locks herself away in her house, painting or reading and not getting any social interaction for days on end, they eventually shows up and forces her back out of her comfort zone with their infectious optimism. 

hideaway haven - riot / enyo

because she is so reclusive, her home is easily a safe place to hide to get away from the rest o magnetic island and riot uses that, and minna’s company, to her advantage.

club of weirdos - harley / thanatos

with a lot in common, it was fate that they were drawn to each other. now, they encourage each other to put themselves out there, and then sit together quietly while doing their own hobbies when they’ve had too much social interaction. they trust each other, which means a lot in their lives.

crystal hearts - linna / eos

from her frequent visits to the whispering willow to the market, the two with the similar names were bound to connect eventually and become fast friends. minna can’t help admire the vibrant and positive energy radiating from linna at any given moment.

art is a deep passion of minna’s, and anyone she can share that with is a friend in her books.

setting : the agora market on a sunday ; ellie’s booth

there was a buzz around her booth, she had just introduced polymer clay earrings into her array of jewelry and wares. usually she worked with acrylics but she was expanding, mostly due to boredom and too much free time. but the things she made were lovely and she knew that, and today she was making several sales, when she noticed someone lingering by the corner of her booth. she turned to them, a wide smile on her lips “see anything you like? first time customers get a twenty five percent discount!” she encouraged. 

She always loved going to the market, even when it was a little bit on the chillier side. She had gotten used to the weather by now, it had been ten years after all. She never pushed to the front of the crowd, quite content with viewing things from a distance, at least until she decided on something she wanted to purchase. Minna seemed to have caught the woman’s attention from her place to the side. “They’re all really nice. I think I might get one for my friend.” Her style wasn’t as sweet as the polymer clay earrings but they still were really cute. “Did you make all these yourself?”
