So, merge on to the Turnpike, follow the signs for the Garden State Parkway, and take the exit toward NJ-17 N. Now, keep left. You wanna end up on I-87 heading towards Albany; you're gonna be here for like 30 miles before taking exit 23 to I-787. Here you're gonna keep left and then take the right two lanes down exit 9E for NY-7 E to Troy. Stay on NY-7 E and eventually you'll pass a Popeyes on your right (this is how you know you're going the right way). You're gonna take a right to stay on NY-7 E and now you're in Vermont! Congratulations! If you turn left to go onto W Main St, the Dollar General will be on your left in 0.8 miles

I think mostly what young fandom types (and I guess younger people in general) who are very very invested in the idea that “20 is still basically a minor” need to understand is that the feeling of “I’m just a child pretending to be an adult, and everyone else around me is a REAL adult” is DEEPLY universal (and won’t stop, ever, by the way, sorry!) and also is not, like, praxis.

Believe me, I get it, but the self-infantilization needs to stop, especially when you’re trying to engage in conversations about actual children and the harms they can face. Yes, it is scary to wake up and realize you’re 22 and you still feel like you’re 15, but it happens to all of us. You’re an adult. You have to deal with it.

My favorite quirk of American English is that since we're constantly exaggerating, sometimes it's more intense to say something slightly less intense. Because like, it means you actually thought about it.

"you look great!" - normal. Anyone could say this. Could be true or could just be lying to be nice. Very normal expected thing to say to someone

"you look good." - gay as hell thing to say to someone.
