Lying had nothing to do with it; Dad had got her onto the internship, and so here she was: one somewhat unwilling intern. Wasn't her fault that she and Dad just had very different ideas of what such an internship should entail, and that she was taking her ideas into her own hands. Honestly, knowing Dad, if he hadn't thought she'd be doing something safe - exactly like cleaning beakers - he would never have pushed so hard to get her into this.
Not that she knew what the scientist was thinking of course. But still.
"Ah... yeah, I guess you should, huh?"
Something about the way the vixen seemed to have switched track when it came to how to deal with her was... well, it was making Gos wary. It could well be a positive thing, but the girl wasn't oblivious to the fact that not many people were prepared to deal with a kid with her level of spirit. And she knew some teachers who would smile like that right before sticking her with detention for a week.
"Gosalyn... Gosalyn Mallard. My Dad really did sign me up for this, honest."
"Well then, Miss Mallard" Vayreena begun. "I am Dr. Vulpera." she said, standing back up. "And since it seems you'll be my intern today let make the best of it shall we?" she asked, putting her hands together in a clap.
She would have to have a word with reception AND the child's father later however she felt. The Lab didn't usually take on interns that young unless it was a very special occasion and either of the two parties should be aware of the dangers that can come from it... Then again, this city was home to super villains and masked vigilantes, so the scaling of danger levels might be skewed a little.
"So tell me... what did you think was going on in a laboratory like this day in and out before coming here?"
