I'm the Blue Pomegranates Guy

"Alright, ready to go," Nate says, stepping out of the bathroom in a hoodie he hadn't been wearing before. It's his old hoodie— the one he told Nate to keep.

Sam's brow furrows in confusion. "What's with the hoodie? It's hot as balls outside."

Nate just grins and shakes his head, walking out the front door without a word. It has to be part of the surprise, but it's puzzling, and a bit concerning. Nate sucks in a breath as they walk down the gravel drive, already tugging at the front of the hoodie.

"Aren't you dying right now?" Sam asks.

"I'm fine," Nate assures him, smiling to cover up his obvious discomfort. "It's not even that hot."

"Sure," Sam says, drawing out the word. Because it is that hot. The sun is blazing above them as they walk, and even in his light t-shirt and shorts, Sam's sweating before they even make it past the bus stop.

But still, Nate soldiers on, seemingly determined not to acknowledge the fact that he's clearly about to overheat.

"Alright, dude, what's with the hoodie? Like, for real." Sam asks. He can see the sheen of sweat on Nate's forehead, and his cheeks have progressively gotten redder as they've been walking.

"It's the middle of the summer. Aren't you sweating under there?" he adds when Nate just shrugs.

"I am beginning to question the plan a little," Nate huffs. "I didn't realize it was gonna be this hot today."

"Can't you just take it off? You're making me sweat just looking at you," Sam says, tugging at the thin fabric of his t-shirt to get a little air circulating. It's so humid they might as well be swimming to the saloon.

"Nope. Not yet," Nate says. "I just have to commit to the bit now."

The hoodie is pretty big on Nate, and Sam can see the collar of a black t-shirt peeking out. That's nothing new. Nate owns plenty of black t-shirts— it's like half his wardrobe. But why is he hiding it? More secrets, on top of secrets. Sam cranes his neck to try and sneak a look down the front of the hoodie and Nate immediately pulls it up, shooting him a pointed look.
