As iconic and central to the story of Sleeping Beauty the curse is, we do have a character that was in a centuries long sleep spell already

So as much as it interests me, that may just be it.

However I DO see the potential of smth interesting regardless of any curses in the future 👀 I can still dream at least ;)

The senate is similar to council of elders

They dress up as Chinese dragons in one of the Halloween events

Silver also talks about the Mulan story in that event

Lilia wants to move to the Land of the Red Dragon

Malleus is one of the only characters to have Eastern-style pajamas

Do you think this means anything or is it just a coincidence? Maybe it’s just that Malleus is a dragon and in Japan dragons would be associated with China?

Japan actually has similar dragons as China has as the concept of dragons was passed to Japan through China in the 6th century I think (or around the time buddhism and other asian cultural influences started coming to Japan), Japan calls them Ryū while China calls them Long

Malleus's 'dragon' traits are more tied to European dragons, as Eastern dragons are more associated with water while European dragons are associated with fire (though Malleus controls all kinds of weather)

It would be cool if we could get more Mulan influences through Diasomnia. Lilia's dream in book 7 reminded me of the war parts of Mulan.

I think there’s definitely going to be SOMETHING going on between that RSA day fairy and Diasomnia, not just because of the potential connections between them + Ambrose, but also considering the game’s established precedent of having the previous book’s dorm be major players in the current book…

Also, a long time ago I had this hc that Silver originally got an RSA invite, but he wanted to go to NRC to uphold his duty as Malleus’s knight, so Malleus and Lilia convinced Crowley to accept him - something Silver may or may not know about, as from his POV he just got an NRC invite not long after his RSA one. It was a self indulgent hc on my part that probably won’t be true (I don’t take the hc too seriously since if this was true Silver should have mentioned SOMETHING about that before now, I feel)

But if it was it would also add another layer to the whole potential idea of Ambrose/the day fairy wanting Silver 😂

The premise of Sleeping Beauty and the core part of Maleficent is all about taking her anger out on an innocent baby. King Stefan and Queen Leah did not invite her to a Christening that everyone else was allowed to attend, and Merryweather told her to her face that she was not wanted- so Maleficent curses Aurora, a baby, to die because of something her parents did.

In Maleficent, she was horribly wronged and had her wings stolen by Stefan, so she cursed Aurora to be trapped in sleep forever just because she is Stefan's daughter.

In both instances, Aurora did literally nothing except exist and she took the brunt of the punishment meant for her parents/father/other people,

Lilia had a short moment where he thought about killing Silver to get revenge on Dawn Knight, but thankfully stopped himself, and tbh I would love to see more of that.

Silver was never supposed to know that Lilia contemplated killing him, he wasn't supposed to know he was asleep for 400 years, nor a prince, nor a child of Lilia and Malleus's enemies. It has been 400 years since then, but fae remember because they live long, and it'd be cool to possibly see Silver get dragged into conflict simply because he is Silver, he's Bladevale's last Prince, he survived 400 years to this point.

I would not be surprised if twst ever said that Silver actually got two acceptance letters- one from NRC and one from RSA (Silver is, after all, blessed by both night and day fae. He has light and dark in him, and dark is what gets him recognized by NRC's magic mirror)

Obviously Silver chose NRC so he can be with his adopted family/continue to aspire to be a knight and such, which is why it could be potentially interesting seeing as he's the only character based on a disney princess NOT in RSA, and if maybe that'd be a point of interest.

But again idk, Silver hasn't really been in any scene too significant since his formal adoption, we still don't really get whats up with the Mickey thing (which btw, if Mickey's dream room is literally another dimension he's slipping into entirely then uh, why aren't we more concerned that Silver can walk into a different dimension too lol but who knows, the mysteries of prefect and silver) and he's left out of the conversations between Trein, the other teachers, and Lilia and Malleus despite his bio family often coming up as a source of information and mystery, and we don't get to know more about his spell and how he deals with it now/the possibility of it leaving within his life time.

Honestly I don't even know if Silver will even get to face off against the Aurora dorm housewarden, I know Malleus will which is cool. I would hope so.

Sleeping Beauty is a fairly simple fairytale plot, but there's a lot of elements of it that I'd love if twst could utilize more- with Aurora being punished for the sins of her parents being a big one, and how the three good fairies chose to protect her despite their inexperience and, through their mistakes, were the reason Maleficent found Aurora and she pricked her finger.

Twst has already done a good job exploring Aurora's horror at finding out her life was a lie and being saddened at the idea of leaving to be a princess engaged to a stranger when just moments prior she was a peasant girl living in the woods with fairies. Silver actually expands on this by being more outwardly attached to fae, feeling like he owes them his life and all.

Twst hasn't touched on Silver being the only human too much, only occasionally with him thinking that Malleus and Lilia are closer to each other than they are with him because of his short and temporary life, and Lilia not wanting Silver to waste all of his life on him, and ofc the obviously literally everyone is going to outlive him, Lilia thinking that Silver would move on to be with humans when Silver clearly never wanted to leave. Lilia has subtly kept Silver at arms length, only just recently been convinced to adopt and become a true family, so what next, yknow. If anything, I'd love to see a more fae perspective.

We already know how everyone feels about Lilia and Malleus and they each other, but it'd be cool to see if Silver really is wanted in a way he doesn't even realize, and not in a 'he's useful/a knight' kind of way. Or I really just want some more fairytale rot man.

I ALSO THINK THAT WOULD BE REALLY COOL and omg a reversed sleeping beauty where maleficent and her goons raised her and the good fairies have been searching for her.

Idk how likely it is for something based like that to happen, we'd just have to wait and see 😭 but, like I've said other times, Ambrose having a distant connecting to Silver's family and previous fairy guardians and the world knowing Silver exists does feel like it could come back for something cool

If the good fairy boy (hopefully hes a fairy, he's got the iconic hat and everything and we've just been given day fae lore aa) and Ambrose remember or even want Silver in anyway because of his connection to Bladevale/their ancestors, I also wouldn't be surprised if they interpreted Diasomnia as having bad intentions for him- especially if they had maybe wanted to find Silver but he was gone after the spell lifted (because Lilia found him first)

If you think about it- Lilia could honestly be the first night fae to ever bless a human.

Obviously day fae blessed Dawn Knight and Silver, but when Lilia blessed Silver and changed his hair color he was genuinely confused and surprised that it happened. They also wouldn't know anything about Diasomnia's relationship, being outsiders looking in.

So potentially from their pov, here's this lost prince that survived for 400 years...Who has been spelled with night fae magic, living with the former General of the Right who has been your enemy in war and the enemy of the Prince's family, and he is being trained to serve the night fae Prince of Briar Valley, who's mother was killed by the former Prince Consort and who's Grandmother stole your land, resources, and castles.

Without knowing their dynamic, I can see how someone might misunderstand Lilia and Malleus as having bad intentions for Silver, and I also think Silver wouldn't be so easily swayed away from his loyalty to Lilia and Malleus, even if the day fae told him more about his family and the day fae. Silver would probably try to find a peaceful solution, and they would be like "clearly, we need to get him out of here" cue horrifying stuff.

I am also so desperate for Malleus, Lilia, and Sebek to be Silver's three fairies to, they already pretty much are lol The idea that Maleficent and her goons could be the ones saving Aurora while a good fairy is the one doing something bad for the sake of 'whats best' ouhh...It's like, too good to be true.

One of my indulgent headcanons that I'm sure isn't true but I wish it was is that maybe the Princess Glow could also be a sort of Spinning Wheel curse stand in. Maleficent uses the gem on her staff to cast the spinning wheel curse, and Aurora is entranced by an ominous green glow- something both the princess glow and the senate are.

Perhaps Maleanor could've cursed the glow to take revenge on Dawn Knight after her demise- If he was robbing her of being in her child's life, she would do the same to him. The moment your child touches the Princess Glow, they die.

But again, this is all just an indulgent idea. The glow hasn't really been shown to do anything other than heal the incurable so far, but given it did belong to Maleficent who did use it for evil, I'd like to think it'd be capable of that with its god-like powers.

Also if this is true, then I could see Jamil being creepy to Mina knowing what Jafar did to Jasmine.

There is a deleted scene where Scar is being creepy to Nala and offering a…proposition. But i don’t think Twst would do that with Leona and Jamil because they aren’t 1-to-1 Jafar and Scar.

They might have a spin or pick a different scene- I see a lot of validity in Jamil trapping Mina in an hourglass as opposed to, ya know lmao

I can practically imagine the par for the course discourse that happens every single update now no matter what they do, but I am kinda excited to see what they do and I hope even during these reenactments, they still do something true to these characters and who they are rather than just who they are based on/inspired by

The Malleus confrontation with the fae has the most mystery surrounding it given Maleficent’s sparse interactions with the three fairies and Phillip is mostly centered on Aurora, and tormenting those who get in the way of her curse coming to fruition- but it is clear even from the original film that she has been antagonizing the good fairies long before Aurora was born, she views them as weak common fools, she ruins their flowers with frost, and they in turn help Phillip escape and spell his sword to kill her. I see a lot of promise with Malleus and that potential day fae- especially with the reveal that Maleficia had colonized all of Briar Valley, took the Day Fae’s land, and still rule to this day, and that Day fae truly did get humans involved to take back their land that they didn’t even get back successfully.
