It's always internally commenting on how humans do stupid or cruel things and are often trying to get themselves killed. Which grates in part because Murderbot's whole thing is keeping clients safe, but also because so many humans either ignore their SecUnits or order their SecUnits to shut up / not try to communicate with words when a plan is obviously dangerous. And SecUnits are denied any way to stand their ground and say "You are actually consigning people to death if you continue on this path."

Even when Murderbot first hacks its governor module, it can't communicate the way it wants to, because that would be a dead giveaway. In All Systems Red, one of the first "mistakes" it makes is when Ratthi suggests he should go back to grab the equipment and it says "No!" (because Ratthi would very likely have been eaten) at the same time several others shout "No!"

(It gets away with this lapse because none of the humans notice, and Pin-Lee adds "For fucks' sake, Ratthi" so her voice is the one people remember, but Murderbot is 100% correct that this isn't how a normal SecUnit would behave. And another SecUnit would likely have noticed the abnormality and been forced to report it.)

Made this post about 15 minutes after the repair guy who fixed the pump on my dishwasher packed up his tools and left, as the dishwasher was whirring along doing my dishes from that morning.
