just looked up what a computable number was finally after long having some vague suspicion that "ohhouhouhoh basically every number is uncomputable sooo scarrryyy" was bullshit. and it totally is! computable numbers are just the ones with finite turing machines specifying their whole infinite sequence! of course that's not most of the numbers that's the most intuitive thing in the world! grow up!

I think what's scary to people is that the computable numbers are the only ones we can directly work with, you know, and that's not most of them. It's obvious if you know the definition of a finite Turing machine but it's not obvious if you nebulously contemplate what a number should be.

Truly odd you can only know a countable number of things. That's the limit of existence. Everything outside of that forbidden.
