linked- any muse ?
Taloura was just staring at the ground, avoiding Layer's gaze, trying to ignore the situation. The fluffy blue reploid had been lucky that she was reset to a previous state rather than destroyed for abducting Xehanort. She still wasn't sure what glitched her update so horrendously. At least her probation was being handled by a friend.
Send “linked” for our muses to be hand-cuffed together.
(Dragon Booster!Sonari) Someone had started speeding through Gotham at about 80mph. However, the culprit wasn't a person in a car. She was a flightless, aquamarine dragon about as tall as a horse. She weaved around traffic as if it was a normal jog.
I catch sight of the aquamarine dragon weaving through Gotham traffic at impossible speed. She’s moving close to eighty miles per hour, dodging cars as naturally as if she were jogging through an open field. I fire my grapnel and swing after her. From above, I watch her dart through intersections and slip between vehicles without causing a single crash. Strange. Someone moving that fast should be leaving chaos behind. I land on a rooftop and sprint along the edge, keeping pace as best I can.
“Okay… what are you running from?”
I mutter.
Given Batgirl's reply, Sonari let the vigilante onto her back. Subtly tethering her with an electromagnetic force, Sonari dashed forth and retraced her steps. The important ones, anyway. She wasn't familiar with the city layout well enough to take shortcuts if there were any. However, it wouldn't take long before Sonari halted on a side street near some apartment buildings. "Ok, so this is about where-"
Sonari's words cut off as XANA emerged from the grid and leapt into Sonari's body. Whether a reflex or a panic response, Sonari flung Batgirl off her back with a Mag Burst before XANA fully integrated into the dragon's body. Her irises flashed an insignia over them.
A mysterious hacker with that same insignia had attacked the Teen Titans about a week ago in San Francisco. Nearly leveled Titans Tower on top of them. In any case, Sonari's posture became stiff and ominous. She turned towards Batgirl and growled. The device she used for speech turned off and clattered to the ground.
I hit the ground hard, roll once, and come up in a low stance. So much for a simple reconnaissance. The dragon stands stiff ahead of me, but something about her is wrong now. The posture, the stillness, the way the air around her feels suddenly heavier. I flick my gaze to the dropped device. Silent.
“Okay, that’s new.”
I say under my breath and take a slow step back, keeping distance while watching her eyes. Whatever that is, it’s not just a passenger anymore.
“Sonari, if you’re still in there, I need you to fight it.”
I call carefully, testing for any response. My hands tighten. Because whatever just got into her, I don’t think it’s planning to leave quietly.
From Sonari's perspective, she suddenly felt like she was dreaming. Her limbs didn't respond to her efforts to move them. Her thoughts were drowned out by another's. Her consciousness faded in and out. She couldn't even process Batgirl's words nor why they were important.
From XANA's perspective, they had commandeered a rather interesting and powerful creature. And now, they had the perfect opportunity to test how deadly she could be. XANA!Sonari needed a few minutes of acceleration to reach high speeds, so they weren't nearly as fast in combat as they were on a run but they lunged towards Batgirl. Even a tackle could be injurious just from their size and build but those teeth in their jaws were sharp and omnivorous in shape. They snapped them towards Batgirl's left side once they got close to the vigilante.

Sonari paused to think, then answered "I'm from the planet Draconis but I've been lost in liminal space so long that I don't have a clear answer to that. This city has similar infrastructure to where I grew up though. Albeit, way fewer suspended platforms. ...And definitely a lack of dragon friendly architecture." She gestured with her head towards the fountain she'd been struggling with before. In any case, her words implied she got here by interdimensional travel. There was likely unstable space where Sonari arrived from, even if it were merely trace energies now.
I stare at her for a moment, weighing everything she just said. A dragon from another planet. Lost in liminal space. Under normal circumstances, I’d be skeptical. Then again, this is Gotham. I glance in the direction she came from, already wondering if whatever brought her here left a trail.
“Interdimensional travel isn’t exactly a common explanation, but I’ve heard stranger.”
I say before my attention returns to Sonari.
“If you arrived recently, there may be signs of where you entered this world. I’d like to take a look.”
I gesture toward the street she’d raced down earlier.
“And preferably before whatever trace energies are left decide to become a problem.”
Sonari took a moment before she turned her right side to Batgirl and gestured with her head. "I can bring you over there, if you want." Carrying the vigilante on her back would probably be faster than leading her around.
Meanwhile, something noticed the unstable space and slipped through. An amorphous shadow quickly leapt into Gotham's electrical grid. A street sign short circuited in the process.

Sonari stopped what she was doing and gawked at Batgirl with a raised brow. She thought 'Who is this lady and why is she dressed like a Drac Lune?' Channeling energy to the device on her chest, it clicked and started opening from the middle in a vertical line. The sides of the dome rearranged into the shape of a sonar dish with what looked like a gem at the center. Then a female voice came from the device; Sonari's micro expressions implying that she was speaking through it. "I presume that's your way of asking my name? I'm Sonari. Who are you? What's Gotham?"

Eventually, Sonari slowed down close to a public park. She trotted along the sidewalk and sniffed at local plant life curiously. Then approached a water fountain and tried to figure out how to use it. Her semi-hooved paws couldn't press the button correctly and her broad head struggled to fit close enough to the spout to actually drink. The few times she got it to spray water, it hit just under her eye. Her tail flicked in agitation. On closer inspection of Sonari, it was probable that a turquoise, dome shaped device resting against her chest would be noticed. It didn't appear to have anything like a strap tethering it to Sonari so how it stayed in place was a mystery.
When I get blood samples at work sometimes they’re still warm from being imminently inside the patient’s veins and my hands are always cold because all the labs Ive work in are in the basement and they keep it kinda cold for whatever reason (and I’m also just a chilly kid).
And I clutch the little warm tubes of blood and feel this sick person warming my hands and I think about how kind you might be and how I wish I could hold your hand and how badly, how really really badly, I want you to get better and stay warm and hold someone’s hand again.
And anyway sometimes it’s better to not think so vividly about the people I’m doing tests for. I’m a good little cog in a vast machine of people all trying to heal and cure, and my cog feels so fucking small sometimes. But I hope the blood I prepare for you helps you breathe better and laugh and wake up feeling well rested.
We’ve never met but you warmed my hands and I want you to know I love you and I’m rooting for you.
god, this is so sweet
One day, when it's your blood warming someone else's hands, I hope they think of you the same way.

I know the Metroid manga isn't wildly popular for like, a variety of reasons, but I do think the funniest bit to come out of it was Samus owning a ridiculously large bed just for herself:
like go girl, use that bounty hunter money for a personal king-sized bed that you get to use like, once every few months if you're lucky.
It might be a singles bed if she were 100% chozo. Those birds are huge.
-> open starter:
The velvet curtain fluttered, though there was no breeze. A top hat rolled dramatically across the wooden stage all on its own then it came to a stop and with a soft pop. A bouquet of glittering playing cards burst from inside it. A moment later, a trail of sparkles spiraled into the air like confetti and with a flick of light there she was. Grinning like she’d just gotten away with something.
“Ta da!” she beamed, striking a theatrical pose “I was aiming for Paris, but I suppose this place will do.” Her boots clicked as she stepped down from the empty air like it was a staircase only she could see “either I botched the spell or someone around here is just that interesting…” She paused giving the person in front of her a curious once over “hmm… Definitely the second one.”
Then, with a movement of her hand, she conjured a cup of tea that floated beside her, steam curling into the shape of a bunny “so” she grinned “who do I talk to about getting a proper welcome? confetti, trumpets, perhaps a talking cat?”
A pair of glowing blue eyes gawked at Zatanna from the shadows where theater seats should have been. From their direction, a voice like a child's cautiously called out "Wh-who are you and why are you here?" Sonari sat still on her hind paws, uncertain what to make of this lady who appeared out of thin air. She clicked a few times to echolocate and keep track of Zatanna.
The room was otherwise deserted and covered in several months worth of dust. To the point that if there were light in the room, Zatanna would be able to see lizard-like pawprints along the ground, zigzagging and varying in freshness. Pawprints that belonged to the 3ft tall dragon speaking to her. The stage was relatively in-tact but the hallways leading there were torn up and riddled with scorch marks as if a fight broke out some time ago. The entryway had a massive hole in the right side wall as if a bulldozer with claws broke through it.
This is the next weather genie therian form in pokemon.
(Y'know what kinda bugs me about fictional snakes? Cobras are always depicted with their hood flattened. Like, I can overlook snakes having eyelids for the sake of conveying emotions in a human way but cobra hoods? Just imagine being born in an aggressive pose and never being able to relax said pose your whole life. Like from birth having clenched fists or a scowl you can never stop doing because the look of it defines your entire species.)
Important rules for the "age verification" era of the internet that we're living in:
1. Do not do age verification.
2. If you have to do age verification, cheat. Do not under any circumstances give them your real ID.

this is a psa for all trans men who dress feminine or aren’t “ cis passing “: you do NOT need to dress masculine to appeal to those who tell you you aren’t “ masculine “ enough to be a trans man. as a trans man who interchanges between feminine and masculine i can promise you that you look amazing if you do dress feminine, and that you aren’t less of a trans man for doing so. i’m tired of hearing other masculine trans men call feminine trans men “ transtrenders “, like, can you just, be open to the fact that not ALL trans men want to be hyper masculine, not ALL trans men want to go on T and get top surgery or even wear binders and tape, and it’s diminishing for other trans guys to tell trans men who aren’t “ cis passing “ what they should be or should do in order to be a real trans man. you cannot dictate other trans men’s experiences and bodies just because YOU want to be cis passing. not every trans man is, or wants, or NEEDS to be cis passing to be a trans man.
Every presentation of transness is valid, especially when you're comfortable in your own skin. Don't let any stereotypes box you into an expression of yourself you aren't feeling like.
