[ ARE WE ALL LOST STARS ! ]

“It’s been so long since I’ve last seen you!” Minjun said excitedly as he walked over to the girl on the other side of the street. He had been walking home from work when he had noticed a girl walking alone and a group of boisterous men walking behind her. He didn’t realize why it had made him uncomfortable until he had heard them taunting the girl. He felt his blood boil at the interaction and decided that he needed to intervene quickly. His feet moved quicker than his mind could keep up with as he found himself walking over to the girl and pretending to know her. He hoped that they would leave her alone if another person was present. He knew that he was not the most intimidating person and that he was short in stature, however he did not let that stop him. When he stood by the girl he pulled her into a hug and acted as if he knew her. “I’m sorry for touching you,” he whispered to her, “my name is Minjun. Just act like you know me until they leave.” He pulled away from the hug, putting on a large smile, “How are you doing?” He asked the girl, while keeping an eye on the men as they continued walking in their direction to pass by.
strolling through the streets of daegu at 1am was never the best idea but she had always done it almost every friday and saturday night. the mere presence of empty alleyways and strings of nightlights soothed her after a long night of dancing in heels and scent of alcohol. she wasn’t a drinker. she actually despised alcohol but nightclubs were her realm on these nights. the only annoying part was the intoxicated group of males that followed her every night.
“hm..?” she hummed as she turned her head towards a male with floppy bangs and a big grin on his face that looked slightly forced. did she know him? after a second, the greeting came with a hug and she was shocked. only a whisper would calm her down and she knew what was going on. “ah..” she glanced at the rowdy group of males behind her and then smiled softly at him. “hi minjun. i’m meili.. or cherry... whatever you want to call me. you know... this actually happens often you don’t have to worry about it.” meili eyed the group as they passed by without taunting or flirting with her. she sighed. this works?
