Honestly, my gut reaction was OVERWHELMING!!!!! but it’s probably something dumb and annoying like this

hahah omg i have no idea what shows exist in this verse hahah that’s all gotten so complicated anymore lol all i know for sure is that wayn and oto are in the same universe ... and so is tfs and tots and titanic and unite or die and ptw and therefore brighton and omfg why are we like this ;DDD

but ANYWAY THESE TWO OMG B/C THAT CHRIS/ELIZABETH THING HAS 10000%%%% happened?!?!?! (omg probs on multiple occasions b/c obviously once is not enough smdh) Drew thinks he’s hilarious omg #facepalm 

omg tho idek what that would be like but honestly SO TERRIFYING!!!!! altho ... I weirdly think that it might be less terrifying w/ both of them than with just adam just b/c I feel like adam is crueler with his pranks than drew is??? like I feel like drew might help to ~pull him back~ a little when they work together, if that makes sense??? 

She didn’t believe that for a second. 

“My weekend…” she chewed on her lip for a moment, wondering how much of her life she wanted to divulge to a guy she squirted with a water bottle when he got too close to her merchandise.

He was more than willing to switch the conversation from his love life to her’s and, leaning over on the counter, “Ooh, is it Alan? Don’t know that kid that well,” He said, “But he seems like a nice guy.” He paused, “If the food selection at his party was anything to judge his character by -- and I think that’s always a great starting point -- he’s a keeper.” 

And since he had a free day, he’d decided to head over and pay them a visit. Sometimes it was so weird being an adult. You spend all your childhood wanting the freedom to be an adult and do whatever you want and then you grow up and wish everything had just stayed the same. For Seth, that meant missing his time spent with the two sisters who had essentially raised him.

Sure, they lived not far from his new place. But living in separate residences wasn’t the same as having them there in the next room whenever he needed them.

Though apparently his need to see them was not mutual. They were always on Seth to call before popping over because sometimes they weren’t home. But Seth never listened.

Luckily, Drew happened to be home. And he was as good as family. “Hey man,” he said as he popped out of the car and clapped Drew on the shoulder, mostly just happy to see a familiar face. But a true grin broke over his face as Drew spelled out his plan.

“Excellent. I have an entire afternoon to fill and a whole bunch of new pranks that need testing. So what are we thinking? Whipped cream? Tapioca pudding?” He paused, his hand stroking his chin as he thought it threw. “Wait. I’ve got it. We dig a whole in the back yard, fill it with water and trick him into falling in it. Maybe we can trick everyone into falling in it? Call it the impromptu Selznick and Connors luau and pretend like we told them about it weeks ago.“

He laughed a little, his eyes shining. “That’s pretty good, right? What have you got, prank master? Let’s brainstorm.”

He laughed, “But knowing those guys, they’d just give us a lecture about how we’ve dug the hole wrong and it would turn into a lecture about how neither of us have any construction skills and there would probably be a practical component and trust me, you don’t want to be apart of that.”

He considered Seth’s suggestion for a moment. “But there’s something about a wet Owen that reminds me of a drowned grumpy cat and that’s something I’d like to see, so I like where you are going with that.” He paused, “Not sure what exactly or how yet, but, dude, we gotta do something with that.” 

“There,” Natalie grinned as she put her hands on her hips, looking around the Selznick-Weisman house.  “It’s lovely.”  A spray of flowers erupted from the otherwise very masculine landscape of the living room and, from this angle, she could spot another she’d placed in the kitchen.  “Now it looks like spring!” she declared as she plumped one of the pillows on the sofa.

Work had been stressful today.  There were all the usual little stresses, but it was getting warm and now somehow Virginia Beach had become a place to be seen for the up-and-coming, what with established “elites” like the Porters and the Ackermans and the Kanes all growing roots here, which meant being rude to the hotel staff to prove a point of supposed superiority.  Natalie had gotten more than enough of that side of things when she’d dated Max and she really didn’t need anymore of it, ever.  Her attitude, of course, had always been ‘kill it with kindness,’ and it carried her through but it also wore her out.

Her answer to a day like this?  Clean the hell out of something.  She’d been meaning to swing by the residence for days now and, at last, the time had arrived.  The house practically glistened with cleanliness.

“So, what are you doing here?” He asked. He forked a thumb over his shoulder, pointing to the flowers in the kitchen, “Putting bee food in our house?” 

He laughed, “Uh, my day?” He’d had the day off and he’d spent it being just as productive as if he’d been at work (which meant not at all when it came to things that mattered). The truth was, he’d spent it replacing all of the cream in the Oreos with toothpaste and setting alarms for 3:00AM and hiding them around the house. 

“Oh, no thank you,” she said in response to his offer. She only drank water after lunch. (And gin… but that was basically water.)

“There are always times when a well placed squirt of water is necessary,” Elaine replied, clicking through the calendar on the screen in front of her. Mostly the spray bottles were for the plants that dotted the salon, but she did chase off Ward earlier in the week when he’d tried to flirt with Ginny. 

“So….” Elaine said, closing out the scheduling program on her computer and looking across the room to Drew, who had smartly stayed next to the fridge where there was nothing to spill iced tea on, “What disgustingly cute thing do you and Ginny have planned for this weekend?”

Drew stiffened a little at the mention of Ginny. They’d decided that this was casual; they’d decided to take this slow. That seemed to suit them both, but everyone around them seemed to think that they days away from announcing that they were going to get married. 

What Drew couldn’t see was how obvious it was to everyone around them how much they cared about each other. Drew hadn’t even admitted it to himself how much he liked Ginny. The last time he’d been with a girl, he’d fallen too fast, too soon, and she’d used him. He wasn’t ready to get hurt again, so he told himself that it didn’t matter. 

They’d just been casually dating.  They’d just causally adopted a dog together. They just casually spent all of their time together. They just causally acted like they were already married. 

“Oh, we aren’t like that,” He said, waving his hand to brush off the question, “I mean, we don’t do disgustingly cute. We don’t even really do things. We just chill out, go with the flow. It’s casual ... we’ll probably just order takeout and watch netflix.” 

Nevertheless, it was weird hearing him call her by her last name. Recently, the two had been working together a little more again and Annie had found herself looking forward to the times he requested her services. Since their breakup, Annie still hadn’t manage to apologize to Drew. At first he couldn’t look at her and his recent trend has been to revert back to and odd emotion of casual. One thing Annie is terrible at. 

Drew stopped by his desk to grab his notes, recorder, and a couple of extra pens which he stuffed into his bag. He suddenly wondered if he had done the right thing in asking her. They’d worked on assignments before since their break-up, but it was easily a forty minute drive to the stadium from there and they’d never had that much time together alone without work to keep them busy since then. 

He didn’t want to talk about their past and he hoped she wouldn’t bring it up, either. It probably would do them both good to clear the air, but Drew never thought about things long-term. He lived for the here and now and here and now he didn’t want to talk about anything serious.
