okay so Emma loves Adam SO MUCH!!!! and like idk exactly what happened with his dad, but however badly things ended there, Emma would do it all again in a heartbeat b/c it meant sheâd have Adam, you know? And I do think she struggled a lot w/ regards to his dad b/c I think sheâs just someone who likes to fix things and sees the best in people and I just think that she really wanted it to all work out with the three of them. And Iâm not sure what kind of person he was, exactly (I mean obviously an asshole but idk much beyond that????), but I def think she loved him despite his flaws and idk really wanted to help him be a better person and tried for years and kinda broke up and got back to together with him a couple of times b/f she realized that he was never going to change and yeah. I really think she regrets that, though.
Also, I think she worries a lot about Adam and she kinda feels like she failed in him a lot of ways??? Like heâs 24 and he doesnât have a real job and doesnât have a real apartment (i mean heâs living in a tugboat <33) and like she knows heâs this brilliant kid who could do so much better and sheâs wondering if she screwed up somehow along the line ⌠I mean, at the same time, if Adam is happy with his life the way it is, then sheâs fine with it, but Iâm not sure she knows if he is or not??? like she just wants the best for him okay like he deserves all the happiness in the world and she just wants to give it to him!!!!!
Ok so I donât even really know where to start w Adamâs feelings (I mean as a rule I could def just end the sentence there ;DDD) about his mom, but she is honestly his favorite person on earth and heâd honestly do just about anything to make her happy including but not limited to murder but short of actually being nice to people ;DDDDD Â
Heâs seen his mom be taken in so many times (s/o to his dad) and all that and I think he feels v protective of her as a result but thereâs also been a lot of cynicism coming from that, I think?  I feel like heâs seen his mom determined to see the best in ppl and heâs seen that crash and burn (again, s/o to his dad) and so his take away from that was mostly just âppl are terrible, donât trust âemâ basically??????  And he feels kinda like his mom is vulnerable and trusting and he has to be her shield to keep bad things from happening, bc he can see what she canât (when in fact she can see what he canât HAHAHAHA I love/hate irony heLP).  And like I mean he has a point in that case but he def took that idea and ran with it...like, ran right across oceans all the way to australia w it ;DDDDD  (Oh!  I was also wondering if he would have had any contact with any other family members?  Aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc?)
I also frankly do think the fluctuating nature of his parentsâ relationship did kinda mess with him bc yknow I think the first time she was like âdaddyâs coming back and itâs gonna be different this timeâ or whatever and he was like âok cool momâ but then it wasnât?????  and he was like âok thatâs the end of itâ but then he later came back agAIN and Adam got to watch how miserable his dad made Emma and I think he really learned to hate his dad and honestly the last time she said she was taking him back, Adam got angry and was like âyeah good luck with thatâ and slammed the door and left for awhile to blow off some steam Like honestly his dad could be fairly mediocre and not ~that bad Iâm not saying heâs the worst thing ever, just he wasnât good enough for his mom.  Adam has seen all sheâs had to sacrifice and give up and work so hard and he believes she deserves the world so anyone who would ever hurt her in any way is human garbage as far as Adamâs concerned, if that makes sense???  Esp repeatedly hurt her????
Ummm, I think Gabby already established it is ~not a tugboat ;DDDDD Â No, but honestly I totally get why sheâs not sure if heâs really happy w his life bc...frankly heâs not sure either????? Â But that being said, I think heâs aware on some level that Emma is ~worried about him and I think thatâs honestly part of why heâs so determined to keep the apartment, instead of Stella, bc he wants to put his mom at ease. Â Like honestly, the last thing in the world he ever wants to do is make her sad or ill at ease or anything at all, so heâs out to kind of ~prove to her that heâs doing well and well adjusted which...well...Adam: LOOK A SQUIRREL
