Arthur if he was older or something, tho I feel like he doesn't look as old as I meant to make him, and them expression lines and whatnot kinda disappeared after I put the posterise effect so MEHHHHHH

I've been kinda "obsessed" drawing older guys. I feel like my brain skipped all of the 20s and all of the 30s and 40s all the way to the 50s and now I just want the slowest of lives and the simplest of things.

I already got the bloody chronic pain, I might as I well just embrace the old man that lives inside me and get myself an old TV set to watch me stupid football games while I pet my lazy dogs. Which is what I do partially when I'm not freaking out about everything else I have to do.

every town they visit would have a library, and in each library would be the sparse book that would give you a headache. these get phased out or lost between shelves or just take up shelf space because the librarians don’t even register them. siffrin notices this and with his memory of a memory will read what he finds to learn all he can about his culture, the forgotten island, and the stars. eventually he recalls the issue of Château Castle that he found translated into their language and thinks, “what if i translated these forgotten books into vaugardian so that they can be read again?” so he starts collecting all these books which is pretty easy because no one wants them and translates them. It probably still gives him a headache and there are a lot of proper nouns he has to make up but it works, save for the few books that are too tied to the country that can’t be made sense of (history, geography, etc)

when they settle down with isabeau, they become known as the sole translator for the language of the forgotten island, and people even send them books so that their meaning doesn’t get lost. sif even accumulates their own library (books marked with their vaugardian title so others can find one they can read) and it brings them as close to their culture and they ever could. the forgotten country wouldn’t be so forgotten
