Giving the other a small smile as if to say thank you, Minhee entered the nearby store. “You’re really giving me an impossible mission here Kai, because you are a dork,” she scrunched her nose lightly as she laughed. Moving towards the section with knitwear, she ran her fingers along a particularly red scarf. “Want a multi-coloured one or just one tone? Bet this red one would look cute.”

“Let’s not play games here, Min. I am the coolest guy,” he smiled, and couldn’t help but snort a small laugh as he looked over the clothing in the store. He could be cool---when he wanted to be. Following close behind, he looked at the scarf she had her eye on, and shrugged. “Red is nice. Simple. I think too many colors’d draw too much attention, no?”

“Well, guess that is the thing that went wrong in my upbringing.” Ironic. But it made her chuckle nonetheless, slowly moving away from the other and thus making the thick fabric from the scarf slip away from him. “Those are fine for at home, but we gotta get you something to wear outside of home as well. Gotta keep you warm for the winter,” her eyes formed small crescents before taking the other’s hand and tugging them along to the nearby clothing store. “C’mon.”

He let the scarf fall away, now sufficiently warmed up, and picked up the excess before it could hit the ground to wind around Minny’s neck. “Okay, okay,” he mumbled, letting himself be dragged along to whichever clothing store she spotted. He really was terrible when it came to shopping, and if it wasn’t for Amy, he’d have been dressed by his mom well into his late teens. “Let’s make sure I don’t look like a dork, okay?”

“I don’t know if a jacket that’d most likely fit me like a crop top would be very fashion forward. I’d probably still get cold, too,” he huffed a small laugh, shaking his head. “That bites though, you gotta build up your cold resistance or you won’t make it through the winter. We won’t make it through the winter. Oregon never got this cold and I was there for almost ten years.”

“How do they freak you out if you’ve never tried it out? You’ve never had the experience.” She asked, placing her elbows on the table. “Yes please!”

“Because I’ve heard the stories! We all have. I mean I’ve heard some crazy ones. But okay, it’s called hitori kakurenbo or one-man hide and seek, and basically you invoke a spirit into a doll after doing a small... ritual thing. Then you stab the doll with a sharp object and say that now it’s the seeker, and you go and hide and wait for it to find you. All the lights have to be off too.”

“Yeah,” Minhee nodded lightly, not too keen on exploring the entire topic and instead closing her eyes briefly as the two huddled together in the much too large scarf. “Ya, why are you so tall?” She protested, raising her head towards him as light pout formed on her lips. “But alright yeah, just… just a lil moment longer in warmth and then we’ll get you a warm shawl as well, alright? But we gotta get some hot chocolate later okay? We gotta.”

“I drink milk, Minhee,” he laughed, bending his knees just slightly so he was a little bit closer to her height. “There, that better? And yeah, hot chocolate is kind of a must at this point.” A bright smile crossed his face as he turned to look at her, the kind of smile he always gave when he was about to say something very ridiculous. “---hey, what if I just got a really warm kigurumi for the winter? Pikachu. Or rilakkuma.”

“I still haven’t seen it or the original. Whoops. But honestly, that’d be awesome! We can play with Ouija boards and hunt down the ghosts that show up.” 

“Honestly. Ouija boards kinda scare the hell outta me. But I’d try anything once,” he smiled, remembering all the times his sister wanted to play with one. “I know this really creepy Japanese game too. Wanna hear about it?”
