My eternal love to people who try to apologize for burping, but go into way too much detail:
-They're struggling to talk around stifled burps, when a little one slips free. They pat their chest softly "Pardon. I just had a soda, and I'm a little bubbly."
-You're tongue deep in a kiss when they pull back with startling urgency. You understand why a moment later when they duck their head and burp heavily into their hand "Sorry! Sorry! I was trying so hard to hold that in..."
-You're sitting next to them reading, not paying attention. Suddenly they shatter the quiet with a dramatic belch. You jump, and they clear their throat awkwardly "Oops...I thought that’d be quieter."
-They're caught off guard by an enormous, messy burp "Fuck, sorry. That was so gross. I tasted that one."
-You're wrapped around them in a hug. You tighten your hold, and they accidentally burp loudly into their closed mouth "Oof, sorry. You squeezed that right out of me."
-They pause the conversation and turn to the side, fist to closed lips. You hear gas travel up their esophagus in several distinct bursts, each bigger than the next "Excuse me, my stomach's kinda off. I've been burping all day."
-You're both leaving dinner, and they keep having to cut off sentences, turning away and burping into their fist “I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be burping so much. I’m just so full...”
-You ask them a question and they don't respond, you turn to see them, head ducked, lips tightly sealed as a burp rumbles softly and endlessly in their closed mouth "God, sorry! I don't think I've ever burped that long before."
-They let up an enormous, socially unacceptable belch "'Scuse me, but I think I would have exploded if I held that in!"
