Hello, one and all, and welcome to my birthday! So, I have been on Tumblr since I was, about, 15-ish, so I’ve been on here for a LONG while. Not enough to be called a super Tumblr oldie, but I remember the good old days when rping was literally all about the huge gifs and not really worrying about the html code or whatever. But, I’m glad that I actually got onto Tumblr and actually practiced my writing. Through this platform, I was able to create and develop so many characters and so many worlds, it still seems crazy how much I’ve done in all that time. To be honest, it was because of Tumblr that my writing improved so much and I was able to get really far ahead in school, too. Anyway, this post is to, basically, appreciate the people that continue to stick with me, despite my slow-ness and incomparable quality to their work. These people mean a lot to me and, even if we might not always be together in the future, I am glad you guys decided to stick around in my current present. Thank you for being my real gift on Tumblr for my birthday. I will always thank God for bringing you all into my life. So, let’s start!

Wow, have I ever told you guys how much I love Munnie? Like, it’s almost been a whole YEAR since we’ve met, and I feel like we’ve known each other forever. Funnily enough, we both share the same age, so I guess that counts in the things we have in common, but honestly she is the one of the GREATEST people I have met on here. We talk almost every day, and I can never not smile whenever I see a message from her. I absolutely LOVE LOVE L O V E the dynamic between our muses and how well they fit together ( Galaxy Roses is officially on of my top OTPs ), and I constantly gush over different ways we can make them interact, break them apart, and mend them back together. Besides that, I can say that Munnie has such a beautiful personality—full of light and caring for others. In retrospect, she reminds me a lot of her muse, Minjae. A star among others. Honestly, ya’ll, I can’t stress how much I care and love Munnie. She is one of the few people that keeps me tied to this place, even after I’ve considered leaving it a couple of times. But, all in all, if you guys want to interact with someone who is just wonderful and sweet and who writes BRILLIANTLY, then I would definitely recommend checking out Munnie’s blog and her muses. Trust me, you guys, she never EVER disappoints. She’ll keep a smile on your face, even when you don’t feel like smiling. Love you, Munnie!

Ok, ya’ll, lowkey, sometimes I think that Lynn is plotting my death because I have TOLD her that my heart can’t take all this angst and she just KEEPS MAKING ME FEEL TOO MUCH. But, don’t get me wrong, I possess no ill-will against Lynn. Hellll NO, I LOVE Lynn, so much. Like, WOW. She has given me such a rollercoaster of emotions, I’m surprised I’ve survived through most of them. She’s made me laugh, cry, scream, want to throw my computer because of how amazing she writes ( still kinda want to lol ), and just made me FEEL a lot. Every time I see a reply from her, I get so excited! but I also have to brace myself cause I have really bad memory and can’t exactly conceptualize who exactly or what exactly she’s replying to. Anyway, sorry about my rambling, but Lynn has such a beautiful and relatable personality, it really resonates through her bog and her writing. I think we might also be the same age (??), or at least within the same range, so thats’s probably one of the reasons why I feel really connected with her ooc. From when I started following her, I felt so shy approaching her and wanting to rp with her because I had read some of her threads and her writing was IMMACULATE. She is the type of writer who breathes LIFE into her characters, giving them a very realistic personality and making you feel as though they are very much REAL ( which is kinda scary but VERY cool, too ). I can’t actually see Jungkook or Jinsoul the same anymore, because her muses immediately come to mind, so I have to remind myself that that’s not actually them lol. All in all, I am grateful to have someone as talented writing with me. Love you Lynn!

Lorapi, Lorapi, Lorapi. You beautful, beautiful, beautiful person. Holy shit guys, lemme tell you, I was initially really anxious to rp with Lorapi. Like, lowkey almost afraid lmao. I think it was just because of who I was rping with and, since Luna is a very strong-character type, she gets on the nerves of a LOT of people so I’m really cautious with who I use her with. BUT Lorapi was super welcoming and, despite Luna’s extremely adverse personality, it didn’t scare away Suriel and !!! they’re friends now!! I am honestly so happy Luna has friends, she is such a loner, so I am so, SO glad that she can finally have someone to be with her as she’s struggling with her powers. Aside from that, Lorapi is so, SO wonderful. They are such a joy and so kind and understanding and sO NICE HOLY SHIT. But, BUT, I think that the thing I love about Lorapi the most is their willingness to COMMUNICATE about any faults that they might have had ( not that they have any lol ). Like, oh my gosh, you guys, I am such a sucker for good communication ic and ooc, I LIVE for that. Lorapi is such a free spirit, full of creativity and passion for their muses. Honestly, ya’ll if you haven’t checked out Lorapi yet, what are you waiting for ??? They will NOT disappoint. Love you Lorapi!

Also a very, very, VERY special shoutout to @theoreticalguardianangel who I haven’t talked to as much recently ( omg please forgive me, I am so horrible at organizing myself and our rps :( ), but who has played a HUGE role in who I am today. They helped me grow into a better writer and will always, ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. <333

if you’re like me you tend to stockpile replies like you’re preparing for the apocalypse, and there are times when i look at that large number (across multiple blogs whoops) and wonder WHAT THE FUCK HAVE I DONE I WILL NEVER DO ALL OF THESE.

BUT FEAR NOT. i have compiled a list of tips i’ve gathered over my 13+ years of rping that have made chugging out responses as stress free and fun as possible. take them or leave them, i hope you find some use in it!

       1. never ever EVER EVER give yourself a “due-date” DON’T DO IT. PLEASE DON’T. I MEAN IT. you can set a goal, that’s awesome. say, ‘hey! i want to get x amount of drafts done today’, but don’t ever tell yourself you HAVE to. this is a hobby, for FUN. when you go into your drafts with a due-date, you go into your drafts with initial stress and if you don’t meet your self-determined quota you’re going to feel bad and you should never feel bad when you write for fun. when you sit down to do drafts just tell yourself, i’m gonna work on these today and see where i get. as long as the only concrete goal you give yourself is to try, then you’re already on the right track!

       2. first thoughts, jot them down! when you go to draft your posts/like it/save it/whatever you do to keep track of your drafts, you should try to jot down a few “first thoughts” before you do so. this is just something i do personally, it’s always helped me out. when i get a reply from my partner, before i go to draft it, i make some bullet points where i would respond; my muses initial internal reaction, possible dialogue, and my muses initial external response. even if you come back to it a week later and take a gander at the reply in your drafts, you can gloss over what you wrote down to try and bring some inspiration back for the reply. you can change your mind, keep it the same, whatever. it just helps brings you back to how you first responded to the reply and spark some creativity.

       3. respond in the order you want to, not the order received this isn’t a job at the local diner, you don’t have to rotate drafts like FIFO (first in first out.) your reply isn’t going to ‘spoil’ the longer you have it in your drafts. if one draft jumps out at you more than the other, DO THAT ONE. your rp partner will (they should) understand muses can be fickle and you have preferences. when you force yourself to do a draft, it tends to come out less than stellar, or not like you wanted, and you’ll just frustrate yourself further.

       4. when you DO decide to sit down and write drafts, get comfy! listen to music? like white noise? need some generic background noise? put that shit on! even if you’re responding mobile in class (shame on you) or at home naked in your bedroom, try to make yourself as comfortable as possible. me? i prefer silence or soft ambient music in the privacy of my room, but that’s just a preference. i tend to write better when i feel the most comfortable. 

       5. TALK TO YOUR RP PARTNERS!!!! trust me i doubt they are going to mind if you head into their im/skype/inbox/whatever and ask questions you have as they come along. if there’s something in their reply you want clarified to help you in yours, ASK! even if there’s no question, i highly encourage you talk to who you’re writing with, especially for longer, more plotted threads; it’s no secret that you tend to write better with people you know/get along with. ask them to chat about their muse in that specific setting, maybe talk over a couple possibilities in the near future, get some inspiration just by chatting. i understand for some of us, talking with others we don’t know is a daunting task, but just try to remember we’re all here for the same reason; we want to write, and have fun, and be creative. the worst thing someone can say to you when you ask for feedback or input is ‘no’, and tbh if they say that then i think you’ve dodged a bullet lmfao

       6. PRAISE YOURSELF for the love of god don’t be ashamed to say HEY I DID ONE DRAFT TODAY GO ME. even if its one out of 100, you still DID IT and that’s AWESOME! the more you congratulate yourself and the more you believe in what you create, the easier creating more will be. 

       7. don’t be afraid to back out of some things this one is the hardest for me to follow, because i love everyone i write with and i tend to not want to let go of threads. but if there’s that one draft you constantly look at every time you try to get some done and it just makes you sad because you’re not sure, you’re never sure how to respond, maybe it’s time to move along. that feeling effects your overall mood and tends to make writing for other drafts more difficult. DO NOT FEEL BAD WHEN YOU DO THIS, DON’T YOU DARE. think of it more as…putting it aside for the time being. you can always revisit that particular plot/scenario at a later date, and your rp partner will understand. if they don’t, if they pressure you to keep a draft that only proceeds to upset you when you go into your drafts, you do not need to write with them. repeat after me, my lovely creative nuggets, you do not owe anyone anything. you don’t. i repeat, THIS IS FOR FUN. this is a hobby. you are not getting paid and unless your rp partner is paying you by the word, do not let them control what you reply to and when. 

       8. don’t be afraid to start NEW things don’t punish yourself. i see it all the time, people joke about having too many drafts and yet they do starter calls, reblogs memes, whathaveyou. THATS OK STOP FEELING BAD ABOUT IT! if you need some creative juices flowing, and your drafts don’t look appealing, then reblog that meme! ask for some starters! as long as you keep writing, inspiration will find you in time, i promise.
