I spent my teenage years and early 20s focusing and obsessing over how I look, and now at 27, I am finally falling in love with my personality and all of me. I realized my beauty (literally) is only scratching the surface of what's truly captivating about me.
God is saying to you today..
You are the blessing.
It is extremely important to seek relationships where you are equally yoked. If you’re spending a lot of time with people you are unequally yoked with, you may experience them either intentionally or unintentionally projecting their trauma/insecurities onto you.
Now you’re battling an insecurity you never had! This is for every relationship. Romantic, familial, and friendships.
I think keeping this in mind will also be a good measure for you to check yourself and make sure you’re not doing it to them as well.
Black Hair
All the discourse around black women’s hair on love island got me to thinking, because I was one of those people who liked and reposted a video talking about the women’s hair on the show.
I try to preach to stop policing black women’s hair but the first thing I noticed were that the black women on love island did not have braids. They had sew-ins in hot weather while doing challenges that involve water. I was upset and I was annoyed.
After seeing a video of a man calling out people for attacking the women for their hair choices for the show. I was embarrassed. But then I questioned myself as to why I felt a way about OTHER women’s choices and why did other black women also feel a way. Why were we so passionate? Then it hit me. We are traumatized.
We see ourselves in other black women. We are barely allowed to take up spaces or be represented, especially when it comes to national television so we believe we have to look our best at all times. In a way, some of us making those comments want to protect the women on tv because we see ourselves. But we are doing the complete opposite by commenting on their hair, especially by doing it publicly.
I’m glad I was called out and I’m glad it made me look within. We say people (who are not black women) need to let us live and stop spewing hate towards black women, but we also need to check ourselves and let ourselves live.
The trauma we have endured and continue to endure is so deeply embedded in us that it’s causing us to traumatize ourselves (bullying, hateful comments). Be vigilant and challenge those thoughts even if they are coming from you or people that look like you!
We have to stick together and uplift one another at every opportunity, especially when it comes to the hair conversation.

Something I noticed in my journey with Christ is that he will not allow you to do things incorrectly. It may work for a couple of months, years even, but then things will start falling apart because He was not in it! It’s like God is saying “try again but this time my way, the correct way that’s guaranteed success”.
My grinder/go getter mentally almost stole my mind 😮💨 please friends, don’t try to be a grinder in a place God didn’t call you to be one. I almost lost my mind and my life! If you all want more details, I’d be happy to share.
Young people make it a priority to protect your heart from the spirit of pride that’s disguising itself as confidence. Because soon or later it will harden your heart to where you want to see others but you’ll only be able to see yourself. You’ll want to love others but you’ll only be able to love yourself.
Every version of you was necessary. Even the ones you’re ashamed of.
love will find me in all forms in 2026

What a privilege it is to be able to rely on someone and not brace for disappointment.
Your life is about to take a beautiful turn.
Reminder to take up space, ask the question, challenge the thoughts, and to not be afraid of any form of rejection.

And then God said to me “I don’t play about you so when are you going to stop playing about you?”
I am NOT playing about me in 2026. It will be my year to advocate for myself, speak my emotions, show up for myself, be kind to myself, stand up for myself, and not settle for anything less than I deserve.
Guys... 6 months in and I’ve been doing exactly that!
