Urban Discovery

#2 Walking in tour.  The neighborhood was beautiful and everything reminded me of Christmas and smelled so good. This trip enhanced my understanding of NYC by showing me the small community New York has and of how New York is just a mixture of cultures that came here. My tour gave a more art culture of personal expression and in the Italian American Museum they showed some art of the past which was great to see as well. The Italian American Museum was great to go in, it is small and they are planning to expand it even more but from what I was it had an amazing history of Italian’s coming here and the businesses they owned.

Finally reaching Spot Desert on our short walk, we now order what is shown, The harvest. It was really one of the best things I ate. Highly recommended!! Also after I had some delicious taro bubble tea. 

We walked towards E 5 and Cooper St and came across glued tiles of an old woman on the way and some beautiful real Christmas trees.

On my walk in tour the first stop was getting off the 6 train at Bleecker Station. We walked a couple blocks to then come across Bowery’s Mural. We were a little confused to see it. I searched up the artist and the mural. The mural is called Heart of the Concrete Jungle by an artist called Futura. He took a risk on instead of doing the usual colorful murals he made it black grey and white. Artist intentions were to demonstrate NYC train yards he would visit as a teen.
