Tumblr is basically dead at this point but I should probably post this here too…

After almost 2 years, Idiot Quest has come to an end. It was only ever meant to be a practise comic for me anyway and I think I’ve gained all I needed from it and I’m ready for something bigger. This isn’t the end for Ham, Spork and Brook, however…

West From Rock Bottom will be a complete webcomic-adaptation of our D&D campaign, start to finish (which we haven’t actually got to yet so here’s hoping we get there before I catch up yikes). @trueheroed is helping me adapt over 3 years of play into comic format and I’m working on character designs at the moment but we’re hoping to have it started before the end of the year. Patrons will, of course, get pages before anyone else, but I’m not sure how frequently updates will be yet. Depends how quickly I’m able to get them done.

If Hamsvich was asked to rate his transition-from-living-to-dead experience he would have given it an unsatisfactory two out of five stars.

It gained a point for being quick and efficient, sure. As much as he despised Elyssa, she certainly knew how to get the job done. Being disintegrated doesn’t leave as much time for suffering as- say- being ripped limb from limb by a horse on each side.

There was also the fact that it was witnessed by around two hundred other guests in the royal dining hall. Granted, many of them were busy transitioning themselves, but a dagger to the chest was not enough to steal the limelight from Hamsvich who- a performer at heart- was proud to declare his death had been the grandest death of all at this ghastly affair.

However- as brief as it was- the process was agonising. When Hamsvich was eleven, he had fallen down the stairs attempting to “out-strut” his sisters in his mother’s high heels which had resulted in two fractured ribs and the chipping of a particularly stubborn baby tooth. He had crowned it the most excruciating pain known to man and had declared that no other injury could ever hope to compare. Oh, how he laughed in the face of that childish innocence now.

Also, the timing could have been better. The night before he had gone on his first date in sixteen years and he was rather looking forward to seeing how it would develop. A second date, perhaps; marriage if he was very lucky; preferably not death.

Oh- and then there was the mild inconvenience that all non-magical items of clothing on his person had apparently been misplaced in the transition. The others had laughed at his idea of enchanting his underwear, but now he was very much wishing he had gone through with it. The darkness he was plummeting through was rather chilly. Brook’s design has been sitting around for a couple of months now. I knew the general direction I wanted to go in with him but it took me a while to figure out how to do it. The blue was a surprise. I didn’t expect to keep the blue.

Next up is Ham who I haven’t spoken to since last week’s design disaster which resulted in two days of work being scrapped because I realised it wasn’t working out at all- wish me luck! Also no comic this week or next because I’m off to London for a few days for MCM Comicon woo! Expect some more character refs in the meantime though as I bust my ass getting ready for this year’s Art Fight!

Ham spent the night kissing halflings and gnomes because they were the only ones short enough to be under his mistletoe rip

Hey, remember me? I’m sort of back. I’m doing okay and we’ve almost finished decorating so it won’t be much longer until I can get back to my regular work schedule. Idiot Quest will resume it’s weekly release date on December 12th!

So this is something that took me two weeks to finish because of trying to find opportunities to get to my computer. It’ll be my boyfriend and I’s 5 year anniversary in a few days and we agreed no expensive gifts this year because I’m poor, so I knocked him up a picture of our favourite boys <3
