I’m curious on how you go around with writing your rod au story, like do you write a few chapters individually then release them one at a time at a certain date? I’m wondering because it looks like a few of your comics take place over multiple chapters, possibly you’ve made the comic as more of a scaffold to build your story around it.

I actually already answered some of this last year!

TDLR: My comics are storyboards for my fic. Helps me think of my story in a more 3D visual sense before putting it into writing (or vice versa where I have a scene drafted and need a comic to better finalize it in my brain) I do write scenes out of order in drafts, but together in finalization.

Most of my drafts are written in stage-script format, which makes it easy to translate into comics. Dialogue is the most important first, then action, then scene.

So yeah all my comics can be out of order, or even straight up scrapped if I decide it just doesnt fit. Not all of my comics are canon to the fic universe though, sometimes theyre just for fun

I work on drafts multiple but I only work-work on a single chapter at a time. I’ll draft scenes months, maybe a year or two before it makes it into a final draft sometimes.

A lot of scenes will also be made out-of-order, so my tabs look like this:

The current next chapter (main focus)

Scene document (cut, moved, drafted or concept scenes that are bulk placed here and are out of order and place. These scenes are important or ideas that will be used but do not belong on a chapter draft yet, but I often forget to delete old draft scenes or write several versions of the same scene, so this is a VERY chaotic and unorganized, LARGE file. I use the cntrl + F feature to find what I’m looking for)

One-Shots that I work on occasionally

Previous chapters to make sure I stay on plot track and not forget anything I had planned to address in the next chapter, this is especially if a previous chapter has foreshadowing that I need to check to so I can make it come true properly in the next one.

(I also sometimes write out-of-order scenes in previous chapters at the very bottom of the document. A lot of the Chp 23 - Ballroom was drafted at the bottom of Chp 17 - Drunken Gods because in the very original draft (I even drew doodles for it) they were supposed to dance while they were drunk. I thought it was too much in one chapter with the sparring, so it was cut and moved.)

I also write on the go, a lot of drafts by texting them to myself on my phone. It’s the easiest, fastest way I can jot something down before I lose it and it’s actually where Trod and SL started: texts to myself

I've been very stressed about various upcoming events recently, so instead of doing anything constructive about it I drew stuff from my TFP fic. As one does.
