250 years after humanity colonized Mars and Venus and the moons are just now getting the power play they’ve been longing for. For the first time in Martian history, the red planet has entered into a shaky agreement with its moons, Phobos and Deimos, called the Red Alliance.
Dacre and the Mad Dogs are not buying into the propaganda. Leonidas Vane, the heir and Lion of Deimos, has entered into this alliance under false pretenses hoping to undermine Lord Aphelion from the inside out, splitting the allegiance of the Deimos royal family.
Flare is struggling to gain traction on Mars. Having been raised on Deimos she is deeply uncomfortable with the wider politics afoot on the red planet. Soldiers and men of rank and title keep coming for her good favor but she is unwilling to give it.
The Martian Guard is pitting the rulers of Phobos and Deimos against one another. Lord Aphelion will do whatever it takes to keep his seat of power, even resorting to nuclear weapons to kill the rebellion. Will the Mad Dogs break free of old feuds or get swallowed in the sands?
