Okay so Hyperlaser is a mercenary that works for this highly militaristic faction called The Korblox Administration, in a region of his world called Balckrock. He doesn't particularly like his job, but he puts up with it because it pays well and he uh. Literally doesn't haven't another choice. Like he'll be taken out back and shot if he tries to leave type of thing. He could escape but! He doesn't try because he's very cowardly and also has an inferiority complex, and he's full of guilt, so he punishes himself by staying (<- that last bit isn't necessarily stated in canon but it becomes pretty obvious if you study his behaviors and rotate him in your brain for long enough lol).

He's canonically severely disabled, like his entire body is covered in burn scars, he's blind (though his helmet helps him see), and he deals with muscle loss due to his burns which, I still haven't done a ton of research on so I don't know exactly how it works but I'm pretty sure it causes a lot of chronic pain/fatigue. So he's! Tired and in agony pretty much all of the time! Yayyy! He's also like. Extremely autistic coded. He is blunt and socially stunted and he does NOT know how to talk to people. He also pretty much definitely has PTSD, it's not been explicitly said but I don't really think it has to be, he's a war vet and was literally raised to be a child soldier and was almost CERTAINLY abused during that process, there's no way he doesn't have at least one trauma disorder.

But there is some good in this world for him! He has a cat named Princess and he loves her very much! She's a fat black cat with short hair and stumpy legs and she's very sweet and he adores her <3
