i have to admit something embarrassing
on my first few listens of seven i always thought she was saying "i hit my peak at seven feet" as one collective phrase. i fully thought this woman grew over a foot taller since the pandemic began and i did not question it even once.
stop fcking sleeping on mad woman please or I'll riot
Thinking about how seven parallels it’s nice to have a friend and how in seven the emphasis is on how she could once do things like scream ferociously and tell her friend she loved her without hesitation and make plans to run away together. And how in it’s nice to have a friend the feelings of seven could be present in all the experiences described in the first verse, but by the second verse it’s suddenly clear that she has learned civility and that it has deeply affected how she can interact with her friend. Once we reach the second verse of it’s nice to have a friend Taylor can only tell her truths when she and her friend are isolated and feel removed form the world up on a roof, and even then she needs the construct of a truth-telling game to excuse her openness. And while in seven she could memorize her friend’s braids and plan futures together without restraining herself, in it’s nice to have a friend it now takes nerve and bravery just to touch hands. I just love how seven so perfectly captures this feeling of loving freely and unapologetically, and I think it gains even more weight when considering how much of Taylor’s other work involves the idea of her apologizing for her love in some form or another.
frankly this demonstrates a lot of the dangers with performative activism. and im not saying a certain song or video or that was all performative activism because i personally think there was a lot of genuine concrete importance in that and as an lgbtq fan myself yntcd meant the whole world to me truly. but im saying that clearly a lot of fans were just being fucking performative, were just participating in yntcd activities to get noticed or because it was trendy. being lgbtq is not a trend. it is not all rainbows and bright colors. a lot of it is really fucking scary. look around at the world. look at how many countries where we could be killed or arrested for being who we are. look at how many countries who won’t let us get married, where we can be fired from where we work, where we can be openly discriminated against. these are conversations that must be had alongside any pride celebrations. and if you were bopping to yntcd a year ago and are sitting here doxxing and outing lgbtq fans - or if you’re just ignoring it - then you truly from the bottom of my heart deserve to rot in hell.

also how are u gonna condemn shipping as inappropriate and toxic when ur blog title is literally “haylor” or “sweeran” or “hiddleswift” like just SAY you’re lesbophobic and your problem with a wlw ship is not about the toxic nature of ships at all and just go
admitting that you take part in bullying wlw who discuss a popular taylor swift wlw ship to any degree and that you support anti-gay taylor blogs and that you make fun of wlw that ship taylor with women…is…an act of lesbophobia plain and simple. it’s even worse if you’re an adult and you admit doing this the morning after minors were doxxed and outed for discussing sapphic taylor and/or kaylor related ideas.
this is the only day you can reblog this
this picture is so pretty she's so pretty
Multimillionaire taylor swift will be okay if her songs get interpreted as gay but the person you outed might never be the same.
homophobes literally use “I’ll out you” (or actually outing you) the same way white people use “I’ll call the police” (or actually calling the police) on black people. they know they’re weaponising an incredibly painful history and context of being discriminated against unjustly and violently, and taking a vulnerable and sensitive thing and causing immense fear and trauma.

Hey, I'm sorry but I don't know what's going on right now, what happened and how can I help?
To really explain what’s happening, we’d have to go back to yesterday when Taylor went on the radio and talked about Betty. No big deal, she said James was a boy which obvi contrasts with the running joke/opinion that James is a teenage lesbian girl. We had a laugh about it, jokingly corrected Taylor and that really should’ve been the end of it. BUT the undercurrent of homophobia that exists in this fandom decided to rear its head as cishet fans rejoiced that Taylor had “shaded” all of the lgbt+ fans who interpreted Betty (or any part of folklore) as being ~gay, in particular, wlw were singled out. When we, in turn, said, hey, this is homophobic, we were gaslit and told that we were attacking Taylor. We weren’t. We never were. We never had an issue with Taylor here. A narrative was built out of thin air that the ~predatory wlw~ were angry at Taylor for not letting us lesbo-fy her songs and that we were saying she wasn’t allowed to view her work as she interpreted it. Cishet fans largely ignored this micro aggression and did nothing to be on our side. The issue was then taken several steps further when multiple wlw fans were doxxed and outed to their families. This is a currently ongoing matter and many lgbt+ fans feel wholly unsafe and are going into hiding.
TL;DR homophobic swifties don’t know how to act like normal empathetic people with morals, lgbt+ fans are being outed, people are scared, I’m livid
Imagine being so racist and so comfortable in your white privilege that you actually say this aloud to black customers.
outing someone isn't just like 'oh no don't do that it's mean :( don't be a meanie :(' it's like........ literally dangerous.......... like literally .... dangerous ....... you DON'T know how it is going to affect someboy like they could literally be KILLED for it so like if u think ur being funny or clever for outing someone because you disagree with an opinion they posted on twitter or for LITERALLY ANY REASON EVER, literally choke! you are disgusting! also even if they aren't in a physically dangerous situation, screw you for taking away their opportunity to come out on their own terms and for scaring them.
if anyone needs help right now, here are some resources.

if you don’t feel safe in your home

I for one think trans anger is good and we should be more angry about the way we're treated. Maybe do a little rioting again. Cis people might be more inclined to listen to us if we have bricks in our hands idk
"Oh but we have to be ~respectable~" Fuck Off I'm sick of cis bullshit and licking their boots isn't the solution
Hey please signal boost this- I used to participate in selfie nights here but as some of you know, around eight months ago I was outed to my abusive, homophobic, transphobic parents, I had my phone taken away, my original account deleted, and I was living with almost no internet access. Please, I’m begging you, I can’t go through this again. If you ever think you’ve seen my face on a selfie night, I’m asking you to go back and delete it. Please please please signal boost. Thank you
