i hate that bc of tiktok and everything people think of nge now as a) an incel anime or b) an incredibly just depressing story... and those are both not true!!! there is a lot of fanservice but it's by no means an ecchi, and nge's strongest message is that no matter how hard, painful, and brutal life and love are you must keep continuing to live and love. it is necessary for your happiness. you must keep going... this isn't to say that nge isn't sad, it is, but it's about hope and perseverance more than anything -_-
