my collages are a meditative state, they're a process, they're so immersive. i use all found materials for them, much of it comes from children's books, comics, calendars, nature books, other things i find. they've got a lot of depth, because i take the time to add outlines and highlights to everything. it's very time consuming but it lends itself to this unique quality, where illustrations next to photos look like they're from the same source material. often people can't figure out how they're made, and i feel like that sort of surrealism and curiosity is perfect.
