I love the collective exasperation of workers around the holidays. We had the preThanksgiving rush at our grocery store and everyone is dead from dealing with it. A customer is storming around the store bitching about something and there's about 6 or 7 of us having lunch/break in the deli. Store Manager who is also on lunch puts her head down on the table and blows like a 15 second raspberry when she hears the customer demand to know where she is. Kind of made the day worth it.

Volunteering at a soup kitchen is one of the least productive things you can do to change the world. Art can inspire people and motivate them. Food is important, yes, but you aren’t changing that person’s life.
