Anna looked up at the taller man, “What kinda life did ah have that forgettin’ it all can be a blessin’?..” she wondered out loud, turning away again. She knew that everyone felt lost at this crazy world they’d found themselves in, that the contrast between how the world was vs how it is now was something a few couldn’t accept and didn’t know how to cope with… But she’d rather remember her life. Her family, her friends. Her successes, her mistakes…
“Is that you admittin’ there’s somethin’ in our past you’d rather not admit to?” she questioned, waiting to hear the reason he had approached. “Yah got somethin’ you wanted to tell me?”
“Oh I have no difficulty admitting to my past. I am considered to have been an extremist in the defense of our people.” Erik neither asked for, or desired acceptance from everyone about his past deeds. He did what he thought necessary. For that he would make no apologies.
“The life of a mutant is seldom an easy one. We are reviled for our abilities because some humans cannot accept us. At times our ideologies on how to deal with this opposed and found us fighting on opposite sides. Other times we worked together.” He kept his hands clasped behind his back. “Here as they say everyone is being given a chance to prove their intentions. Mine is, as it ever has been, to work towards the well being of our people.”
