Happy valentine's day daddy! And uncle Steve! [ She gives both a grin and hands them a small box of chocolates. Hey, chocolates were good for valentine's day ]
"Thank you Monkey." There’s a big grin on his face as he beams at his not so little girl anymore. He pokes Steve’s arm and get’s a soft ‘ouch’ that’s more for form then anything else.
"Thank you Grace-Face." He takes the box and quickly holds it out of Danny’s range. "I will enjoy these."
Danny glares but knows that Steve has won this round. “I didn’t expect to see you today sweetheart. Shouldn’t you be at home sending away the admirers that are lined up at your door.”
That gets a laugh out of her as she leans into her daddy’s side. Though the moment that light smack hits she turns a bit. “Watch it, uncle Steve. You and daddy taught me how to fight.” She grins and shakes her head, “So what’re we all doing today?”
He laughs. He’d always let Grace win, even now she’s older but it doesn’t matter. It’s not a competition.
"Behave you two." He smiles at his daughter, glad to have her home for the day, ignoring Steve.
While father and daughter settle down in the living room, catching each other up on the past week Steve takes a nice plate from the kitchen and arranges the chocolates on it as the coffee brews.
"Here you two go." He puts the plate and one cup coffee down and then quickly leaves for the other two.
"I told you Monkey. He’s learning."
"But that's no fun." Grace teases before moving to the living room, sitting down with her dad. She leans against his side and watches her uncle Steve disappear into the kitchen. Then come back with a cup of coffee and a plate filled with the chocolates she gave them.
Picking up two of the chocolates she hands one to her dad and laughs, "I see that. What else have you taught uncle Steve to do?" Now she was just teasing. Probably not good when her uncle Steve, to her anyway, was the tickle monster.
