and like i love book armandaniel very deeply but i also think that it was an excellent decision for them to age up show daniel. bc i feel like we rarely get to experience actual well-written and compelling older characters on TV and there’s this general culture of glamorising youth, and most media tries to sell you the notion that your life is basically over after youre 30 and idk its just so refreshing??? and reassuring somehow?? to see a character played by a 71 year old actor actually be cool and snarky and smart and amazing and a vital part of the show and so many people in the fandom (and armand) want to Fuck that Old Man so yeah the message here seems so strong??? really daniel is like a role model to me. i want to be like him when im old. and i like this juxtaposition of the vampires being older than him but looking younger; do they wish they could also experience old age? do they see themselves in him, despite their youthful appearance? and its so cool when he actually outsmarts armand at the end like get him!!!! and he gets to be a vampire and be a cunty old man forever!!! amazing show

iwtv is great because sam reid was like “ever since I was a little boy I dreamed of being lestat” and eric bogosian was like “the most erotic experience of my life was watching a dracula play and I want someone to bite my neck” and assad zaman was like “i think I should get to have a threesome with both daniels” and no one stopped them and jacob anderson didn't say any of that but he did deliver a performance too good for the emmys

iwtv is so fun because it's not really about vampires who happen to be gay. it's about gay ppl with personality disorders who also happen to be vampires
