Today, I threw out a little bonsai tree I had because it had died. A few weeks ago, I stopped watering it. I knew it was going to die, but I let it. When I realized I wouldn’t be taking it with me when I moved, it didn’t seem wise to continue trying to maintain it.

Knowing that I am moving has put a lot into perspective about the things I've been holding on to. This goes for things and people. Sometimes I think it's easier to continue putting energy into things in order to sustain them rather than stopping to determine whether they're worth keeping around. I'm making those determinations now, and it's feeling really good to let go.
