Salutations and Welcome to my blog!
I focus on the personifications of the ancient Greek city-states, though occasionally others may make an appearance as well. Nevertheless, here are some visual shapes to keep in mind:

My shot at Odysseus (Iliad version)
The linear B spells "o-du-se-u"
Sparta and Corinth as teenagers (or about Macedon's age)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been long since the fall of Mycenae; the Dorians were now rulers of Peloponnesus and the land had been split between them.
The Greek dark ages (~11th-9th cent) are poorly understood due to the lack of contemporary texts; however, we may derive info from the works of Homer and various settlements that have been discovered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Corinth definitely made and sold votive offerings during the Greek dark ages to derive revenue from.
2. Corinth knows of Sparta better than anybody. They had grown up together, under the restless eye of Doris, through the same successes and failures. It is fair to say that Corinth is the most loyal of the Greeks, for she always stayed by her brother 's side.
She was there when it happened. She was the one that saved him. And Sparta acknowledges it, even though he prefers to not show it.
3. Sparta would regularly bully Argos when they were kids
4. Sparta prefers not to waste his words: if you understood, great, next. If you didn't, well, too bad, because his daily word limit (of 2) has been exceeded. Corinth will be glad to interpret and explain to you though!
How the Persians viewed VS How the Macedonians
the Macedonians. viewed themselves
Aegina (/Aigina)
Aegina is an island in the Saronic gulf, across from Athens. It quickly grew to a substantial naval power (I'd place it at number 4 among the ancient cities, behind Corinth and Corcyra) and it was often that it came into conflict with Athens.
Its symbol was the turtle and, of course, I had to incorporate it (and what better way than make him what is basically a tmnt?).
Also fun fact: Owls eat turtles

Plakous (la: Placenta)
Or in other words, ancient Greek/Roman cheesecake. Not of my usual posting, but I really did enjoy both the process and the final result.
It's composed of 5 layers, made of wheat flour and spelt, each intersected by a layer of myzethra mixed with honey, the total wrapped in a dough of nothing but water and flour.
Words cannot accurately describe the flavour, but I do urge you to try it!
Athene Noctua
Yes, he can turn his head 360° degrees
Macedon's the type of person to not realise a scar is made until later inspection or seeing it by accident in standing up from a chair;
He can be reckless. He knows this. But the marks don't bother him in the slightest, contrariwise, he values the bargaining value they bring to the table.
They show that he'd go all the way for something he wants. And he's been successful everytime.
biblically accurate Megara - may colour her in in the future

Stained in memory,
His sharp claws,
Tearing palen skin.
Greece 🇬🇷
More or less the first depiction is of now, while the second is of the economic crisis.
"[When Alexander asked to be worshipped like a God] in 324, Sparta's reply to his request was mocking:
"We allow Alexander to call himself God, if he so pleases!"
In Athens, Demosthenes said:
"Let him be the son of Zeus or Poseidon, if he wants, like I care""
They really had just given up by that point
I've been occupying myself with the ancient dialects - especially Doric - for a while now, so I was bound to make a post about them; this will probably be a 9-parter, if I do decide to do all the major dialects
Casual clothing
Or, at least, as casually as Macedon can dress; I wanted to give him a pair of regular clothes as being always dressed in armour is not the best look for someone that poses as a "peace keeper".
I may have overdone it, despite his design being intentionally packed 🥲

Late 9th century.
I wanted to note Byzantium also had religious delusions and hallucinations...
From a previous posting:
As Christianity spread amongst the peoples of the empire, he acquired a profound interest in the new religion, granting the believers rights unseen in the early Roman period.
Several emperors claimed to be seeing visions; God indirectly communicating with them through dreams, advising them on vital matters (see Constantine the Great before the Battle of the Milvian Bridge 312). This was indeed done to enhance the emperors' prestige among the empire's religious citizens, while also encouraging them not to question or criticise the emperors' policies.
He dubbed them "visions" (horamata) and staunchly believed that God Himself communicated with him - His representative on earth - guiding him through the hardships that he was to face. He did all to please Him; attended church every morning, held the Orthodox church high as the most prestigious institution of the state, coming in close communication with the Patriarch, anathematized any symbol of idolatry and paganism and bestowed his life in serving Him.
Any misfortune, any defeat, had the sole cause of his own sins;
I remember the king sitting at the table in silence, not uttering a single word out of shame for either man or God. That fateful battle of Manzikert had preceded, and, as my brother told me, my father burst into a thunderous wail followed by tears, unable to stop. He had knelt in the mud, refusing to look at his officers who were trying to lift him up (translated from my attempt at Byzantine Greek)
And one ought to be punished for the forgiveness of God.
He thence avoided laying his back against the royal throne.
